Papa Vino's has become a tradition for our family on Mother's Day. We go there every year for Mother's Day and even have had large Christmas parties at this restaurant; however, we just got home at almost 4 pm from Mother's Day dinner at Papa Vino's. Our reservation was for 1 pm. We were seated before 1 pm and did not have our salads until almost 2 pm. We had the worst service and the rudest waitress ever! When we spoke to the manager about the service, he made excuses about them being so busy because of Mother's Day. We have been there before, many times, on busy Mother's Day and never have had bad service or a rude waitress. Needless to say, we will be starting a new tradition somewhere else next year.
I recently looked up the phone number to Papa Vino's to get their phone number to make a reservation and noticed some of the comments.
I just wanted to inform anyone that my experience was above pleasant. The service was very efficient. The server was on spot and offered ground pepper and hand grated parmesan cheese with our meals. I don't even know what peel and stick cheese is.
The meals themselves were superb. The temperature was adequate and plate appeal nice. I had the chicken scallopini (which I always have there and LOVE,) my father had the steak siciliano (very flavorful,) and my husband had the chicken picatta (also delicious.)
Anyway I know that restaurants always get the negative attention (I used to work in one), so I am happy to give the restaurant, I call my favorite, a great review.
What a great meal and overall experience. We had 8 adults and 2 children. The prices were very reasonable. I got the Baci and my husband got the pork chops. They were amazing. The kids got pizza from the wood burning oven. Our server was on top of everything. Will be back really soon. Thank you Papa Vino's for a great night out.
What happened to Papa Vino's? This place used to have great food and service. Today it did not. The service was amature and I could not recommend the food; overcooked, runny sauce, looked like it just came from the microwave. What happened to the fresh grated cheese? Replaced by two squares of peel and stick cheese something. On a good note the fresh bread was as good as I remember and the appetizer was terrific. We should have stopped at that point, we would have been ahead. Probably not going back.
