Bd's Mongolian Grill - Auburn Hills
This bd's outlet in Aubrun Hills is close to the Central Michigan University and the Auburn Hills Public Library. At bd's Mongolian Grill you control the dining experience. You choose what you want in your stir-fry bowl, and then watch them prepare it in front of you. If you want a change from the regular Chinese taste, you can even ask for your stir-fry noodles to be prepared in barbecue, Mangolian, Pad Thai, Italian and Cajun flavors. They even accommodate vegetarian and gluten-free requests. Visit their website for their menu.
I love this place, It's out favorite place to eat out! The food is great! You get to pick exactly what you want in your dish(es). The food choices are always fresh. And the price is as reasonable. The cooks are friendly, and managment always asks if everything is ok.
We went to Bd's MB for our 25th anniversary dinner with our family. What a mistake for such a special event. The interior reminded me of ChiChi's when it was on its downhill slide: overpriced food, bad service, mediocre ambience and the place was a pig sty with crud all over the floor. Our entire table surface was sticky with something that the waiter could not clean off. The food: what a terrible concept. You wait in line, buffet style, to pick out RAW meat (chicken, beef, etc. in terrible cuts) to plunk down into your own bowl for your meal. Talk about unappetizing. My kids were lost and didn't even know what to do. The waiter, meanwhile, was a smart aleck jerk who flirted with our daughter right in front of us. Then the kicker was the bill, which for the amount you eat was overpriced by twice. One of our worst dining experiences ever, we'll certainly remember that anniversary meal for all the wrong reasons. Too bad I have to give this one star because I'd like to give it none. Spare yourselves and save some money andaggravation by staying home and making your own stir fry for a fraction of the cost.
We love this place. It is fun for older kids to pick and choose what they want to eat and it is coked right in front of you. There is a salad and soup bar as well as the regular choices. You can't say that someone got your order wrong, because you make they just cook what they bring them. It is a bit pricey for those that only eat one helping. However, if you eat a salad and two helpings it is well worth your money. We really like this place and would recomend it to anyone!
The restaurant is geared towards having a great time. The food is good, the staff wonderful, and other patrons make you feel good as well.
I love their desert menu, but it could use a few more items. Overall, thumbs up!
I am a very picky eater so when I walked in and they explained everything to me I was ready to leave. The waitress was extremely helpfull and I ended up loving everything!! They have all you can eat from meat to soup & salad bar. We also loved their drinks especially the Mongolian Sunrise! The big brownie was also wonderful! It's a little on the expensive side but worth it! The only thing that I didn't like was that the noise level was sooo high.
I love going to BD's with my kids and friends, but it's not a great place to go on a first date, or when you want to get to know someone because it is LOUD. If you're lucky enough to get the back room, you might be able to hold a conversation without shouting.
Everyone who works there seems to have a great personality. The cooks are always trying to make you laugh or smile and the food is awesome. I am an extremely picky eater and I prefer to eat my own cooking to anyone else's. That's why this place is so great. It's like home cooking, without having to do it yourself. You pick what you like and they do it up for you. And if you messed it up, you can always try again. Vegetarians and meatatarians are both happy!
It's also got a nice bar, but the only time I ever ordered a specialty drink, it was rather poor. I also don't like the cost, but then, I'm cheap. Lunch is, of course, much less expensive. For what you get for the cost though, it's probably quite worth it- you can pretty much manage your own portion sizes, and all you can eat is only a little bit more.
The kids really like it because they like inventing their own creations and choosing exactly what they eat without too much commitment. They also like watching the cooks. It's better than a regular buffet, because they don't make as many trips and you don't have to worry about them burning themselves on chafing dishes.
The staff and service are top notch not too busy and treated us as though we were their main priority, pleasant, polite, curtious, and well informed . We truly enjoyed our meal and our stay there ty guys !1
