My earliest experience with Mr. Chicken was at the Plymouth Rd. location in Redford, in about the 3rd or 4th grade; when we'd travel from Taylor to visit family in the area, we'd always stop there and order the Fish and Chips (Perch) dinner and enjoy it in the parking lot. Over the years (I am now 25), I still consider this restaurant a hidden gem. Not many people know how great the food is, because the building looks so plain, a lot of people my age pass it by.
I am forever an advocate for their great food and whats funny, is that in all my years, Ive never had the chicken! I will say, their rib dinner is what first molded my idea of what great ribs should taste like as a kid. Now, wherever I go, I cant eat ribs unless I have them with a side of cole slaw and fried potatoes---with ranch (which, theirs is homemade by the way, AND DELICIOUS!) Their ranch is what ranches should taste like, perfectly crisp potatoes......And the perch is so great, it makes me even wanna dip my side of fries in tarter sauce! Bottom line is, YOU HAVE TO EAT THERE! :)
