I havent been to a danceclub in about 10yrs n i wanted to hear some great music from the 80 s. And it was for my 50th. Wanted it to be a place that was fun but not fillwd with superfical people n also people that were of a mature age. Had a pretty good time. Bartenders didnt seem all that friendly n the crowd was a mix of young n a few mature people. The music was good we went on a friday night. The place was kinda empty but that was cool. The drinks were standard well drinks. The cocktail chairs were small for a bigger person to sit on was difficult. Over all pretty good time.
I met my sexy husband here. It's a GREAT place to dance and have fun, and not have to worry about being ubercool and awesome. Just be yourself. Music is awesome, scene is vibrant with energy and it's a non-stop good ol time!
We have been in Boogie Fever some 2 years ago and had a good time, so when my wife's 40th birthday came I had couple friends coming from Europe and California in surprise visit, so being of disco age and where everybody loves to dance I thought it would be a good idea to go to Boogie Fever and dance to the music we grew up with.
What a disaster it was!
We came July 5th, 2008 Saturday evening for a disco music night (Saturday night was supposed to be reserved for DISCO music).
We came around 9:30pm and it was not crowded yet, remembering outside line from 2 years ago we thought it is because we came early. We easily found a table and started listening to some disco worm up mix and around 10:00pm we went to the floor for Funky Town and we thought disco night is starting.
Despite terrible loudspeaker quality (not complaining about sound levels, but actual sound quality that looked like there are no Hi registers in the music) I thought we will have decent dance night, but not counting occasional flashes of real disco hits we only got to the dance floor 3 or 4 times for a song or two!
DISCO night without a song from Donna Summer, Gloria Gaynor, Diana Ross, Earth Wind and Fire, Kool and the Gang, Chic, Blondie, Sister Sledge, Wild Cherry, ABBA, Village People, … you get the picture, but can you imagine DISCO night without any of it !!! ???
There was some starting Bee Gees mix, Michael Jackson’s Billy Jean, some other lukewarm stuff, no real mega hits, clock hit midnight and horror became even bigger.
DJ decided to change theme for that night and instead of DISCO music started techno/dance rave NOISE!!!
We decided to leave at 12:30am and would never, ever come again to this place.
This is not a place where you meet nice good looking people, it is a place of last resort for middle aged women and men of all kinds hungry for quick scoring, but you do not care about that if you are dancing for your own good time with music you like, but when music is terrible you notice all of it.
If you are not looking for quick scoring but coming with friends for DISCO dance, don’t bother, this place is not what it was before and DJ has no clue what is DISCO music. Research, look for DISCO somewhere else, but real DISCO definitively departed this place long time ago.
If you are coming for something else, lower your expectations to a minimum and make sure you know what you are doing.
Cute waitresses and huge bouncers with friendly faces make you feel safe enough in that place.
I like the huge and lighted dance floor. I like the retro music theme. I like the huge video screens. I like the huge disco ball and the lazer and light show. I like the mixture of dance music from the 70's and 80's. It was a great escape from our contemporary music. I can't wait to go back and dance again.
This place is AWESOME!!!!! I love it. It is very large so you don't feel packed in like sardines even when it is super crowded (Saturday nites). The food is great. The service is great. The music is great. If you make trouble when you have a little too much, don't go there. The bouncers will kindly escort you off the premises (and they are some big guys - nice but big)! It is truly a place for everyone (over 21 that is).
This is a very cool, laid back club that almost anyone can have a good time at. Not a hook up scene which makes its really fun to hang out with your girlfriends. People are fun to talk to and no one cares what you do.
The club was decorated fabulously old school for halloween and the music was great!!!!!!!!! The two downsides for me was it was way too smokey they need some sort of ventilation or somthing and more tables so as not to knocked around the huge monsterous dance floor that has everybody dancing because the music is so good
If you want to have a guaranteed great time visit Boogie Fever on a Friday or Saturday night. The dance music is the best, you'll never feel out of place because you will see all ages on the lit raised dance floor, the bouncers do their job so you will always feel safe, parking is close by and the police are high profile. This is a unique experience even better than the China Club in New York! Always packed with fun and gorgeous people.
