Pizza Papalis is definitely a Detroit favorite and needs no introduction. If you love pizza you love Pizza Papalis, there's no two ways about it. The pizza here is so good that you have to be prepared for a wait to get your order, but rest assured the end result is totally worth the wait. The deep dish pizza is massive - three slices will satisfy even the biggest of the big eaters. Besides their famed deep dish pizzas, try the salads, the pasta or the garlic bread. With the amount of cheese, meat and spices generously spread on your pizza it's best to go with a huge group and yes, forget about your diet too. The hours are for summers only.
Pizza is a very ordinary meal for some but once you step foot inside of Pizzapapalis, the word ordinary goes out the window! When you first step inside of this very New York style restaruant, you are greeted with smooth music and a smile. The wait staff immediately seats you gone with their pitch about the different pizzas, very thoroughly, and mak esure you understand your options. The pizzas are made fast but dont let that scare you because here, it is not about spped but quality. And I must say quality is something that this restuarant has. The pizzas are nice size, deep dish, and delicious!! Two slices and I'm comletely full! The prices are very reasonable and you get alot for your money.I highly recommend that if you ever visit Downtown Detroit, upon wisting on of our casinos, you stop by Pizzapapalis for very delicious and satisfying meal.
Always expect a lot of hustle and bustle -- and a wait!! The pizza is definitely worth it!! The deep dish, rich sauce, ton's of toppings, and the variety of toppings/combinations is an epicurean feast and incredible value for the money. Whichever one you order -- It's definitely a pizza worth waiting for.
I chose Pizza Papalis for my birthday dinner even though I usually adhere to the South Beach diet way of eating. It's worth evey cheating bite. One slice of the spinach mushroom pizza and I'm in heaven., Just can't wait until I can cheat again!
