The Bronx Bar
Located close to Wayne State University, The Bronx Bar is a favorite place for both students and locals. The atmosphere here is laid back and the service is very friendly. This bar is well-known locally for their bloody marys and Long Island iced teas, as well as their ample beer selection. Traditional bar food is also available - be sure to try the burger and fried okra!
The Bronx is the most racist Bar in Detroit. The owners are racist and they cater to a racist crowd. They have a lot of nerve, but what they don't know is some Black people who have been victims of racism and prejudice in this place are plotting to let those demons know in full detail, that Detroit is our city and their nazism won't be tolerated.
When I hang out I like to go to a certain area of the city. No hip Royal Oak bars or trendy Ferndale bars. I go down into the deep, dark night. I remember when The Bronx was an old man hang out. A lot has changed. Great juke box, dark enough to loser your friends, cheap beer and a crazy mix of locals, wanna be's and has beens. Check it out if you're looking to escape the meat markets and retro dance clubs.
Went on a Down Town pub crawl and stumbled on to the Bronx when I got lost. This was the best wrong turn taken in a long time. Saturday nights this is the place to be. The crowd was nothing less than trendy and social. Ages ranged from 21 to about 41. I arrived at about ten and had every intention of leaving after one. After one drink turned into after one o'clock. I was told that the food is great and I can tell you that the beer is cheap and the drinks are strong. There are two, very large, juke boxes so if you are a music lover as I am it's a must hear. One pool table that had a long list of would be players all night. The bathroom was clean enough for a bar, the sink is cool, and there was toilet paper all night. Will be going back with out a doubt!
