Mexican Village Restaurant, Detroit

I once found part of the cellophane wrapper from a pack of cigarettes in my re-fried beans but the manager assured me that it was really just a piece of food packaging. What I still can't figure out is what Mexican food bears the same tax stamp on the wrapper that cigarettes have. Either way she offered a small rice pudding, free of charge, for my trouble. I showed my gratitude by pouring it on the carpet and flushing a fork down the toilet.

Born and raised in Detroit this is by far the best Mexican restaurant any where. I now live and work in NC as a private chef. Wish is was there today. Try the tacos.

Food was YUMMY and the restaurant was CLEAN! I've been there a few times in the last few months and I've never been disappointed.

I have live here in Southeast MI for over 17 yrs and worked for 1 yr at Mexican Village, I believe is the BEST Mexican Rest in the area, you got to try it! Not just because I worked there, but I've worked at other Mex rest and would not even eat there food now, but the "The Village" is just the BEST!!!

Awesome! I love the chips and cheese, sooo good!!!!! Its pretty much the best cheese on nachos I've ever had. Oh and the margaritas are amazing too.

This place has been a long time favorite! Always Excellent. Many options, all delicious! Excellent drinks too! Makes Detroit Better!

Been going here since I was born 32 years ago, no kidding. When I was a kid I used to get burgers but finally I learned that mexican food is excellente when I was about ten. Now my husband and I go there. The absolute BEST mexican food north of the border! Only downfall is the service...but its still beyond worth going!

The Best Mexican restaurant i have ever been too amazing food atmosphere was very nice the food taste great service was Great, our server's name was George he did a wonderful job making sure we were taking care of he was very attentive to our needs. Even the manager came over and asked how everything was. we told him that we were very pleased and will come back when were in town. Its not very often in restaurants these days you find good service like that and great food. A+ a+ A+ Highly Recommend

a great place for mexican food it is excellent.but dont go down there unless you are loaded even in the daytime,the crime is so bad all the regulars have left.to many robberies and muggings going on.they have guards but it doesnt seem to be doing any good,too bad it will ruin thier business.we use to go down all the time for the mexican festival and the things they did down there.not any more we steer clear.
