Sorry not worth the 50 mile round trip to get service this poor. We entered the restaurant and were seated for ten minutes before someone came up and asked what we would like to drink. They proceeded to tell us that our waitress was busy with a party and she would be right with us. Just before I was ready to pay for our drinks and walk out the waitress finally came over and took our order. You mean all these other waitress are not allowed to wait on us because it’s not there table? You make a customer wait for fifteen minutes before you take they order? Really? Everybody was telling me you have to go there. The food is better than Hamtramck. The food was okay, but I ve had better Polish food. The only thing that was up to par was the Perogies. Everything else was bland.
My family has always loved this food so when it was up to where to have my mothers 60th surprise birthday party we knew it was at Polonus! They did very well with our party of 50... Not only were the waitresses great about getting my mother to the room and what we should do.. and the food was wonderful and the prices were great! Just lovely... we have always had great memories coming here.. this is just another one.. and Polonus will be the place that we go to next time we have a party to have!
Our family loves the food, especially the cucumber salad, finely shredded seasoned beets, sweet cabbage, and The Hungry Pole Feast (one polish kielbasa, two potato pierogies, stuffed cabbage and one large meatball, a choice of tossed salad, cup of soup, cole slaw or cucumbers in sour cream, all for only $9.95). On Wednesdays, we like the Dill Pickle soup which is delicious! Informal yet comfortable booths and tables, and two walls have windows providing light and airy atmosphere. A small banquet room is available for showers, funerals, birthdays, etc.
Great Polish Food. The wait staff is always friendly, although too few sometimes for the number of tables. Combo pierogi and nalesniki (crepe) plate and the beet soup on Fridays are our family favorites. More expensive than fast food or your local family restaurant - but if you want homemade Polish without driving to Hamtramck - its a hit.
the salad dressing was all bottled i asked the waitress, come on after that much money spent there and how expensive they seem they are so cheap, homemade dressings are wayy more better, and the service wasn't that good, and my plate and silverware was dirty!
