My husband brought home Parks today and it was awful! the ribs were very small, it had little meat on them and the taste was unpleasent. I had people tell me there ribs we very good, but i was not impressed. I would not recommend them to anyone. The colw slaw and potatoe salad were decent. I did not want to give a rating but i had to so i gave it a 1 star, if i could have there would be no rating.
After reading all the reviews, I made a special stop try Park's out. It didn't open until 2pm, so I even swung back and was late to work just so I could try the short end dinner. Church had just gotten out, so there were a lot customers which is a great sign of a great place to eat.
Unfortunately, I got the chewiest ribs possible. The mild sauce was great, the fries were fried in good oil (not like some places), but their ribs were absolutley wrong. Maybe I got the one bad batch, but someone else got the other half! Maybe I can go back one day and get the same great bbq you guys are all raving about.
I love the taste of Parks Barbeque. It is a different taste than most other sauces. either you like or you don't. I've been eating parks ribs since I was a kid before my teens, I'm over 50 now. That should tell you something about how good it is, You don't stay in business over 40 years with something that nobody likes. I live in Wixom now and still drive to Detroit for their Ribs
Parks is the mecca for lovers of this savory style of barbecue, and is thought of by some as a direct descendant of the barbecue style of Henry Perry, the inventor of Kansas City barbecue.
