Black Pine Tree, Southgate

If you want some great sushi at an unbelievable price then Black Pine Tree is your spot. As Maria has said, the sushi is of high quality and always fresh; no wet rice here. This is my number spot for sushi. I love the california combo #2. I will say that I wish they could make the Atlantic Roll from Kona Grill in Troy though, but BPT is one of the best.

Awesome sushi.. .awesome waitstaff! I should know because my daughter is a waitress there. The sushi chefs are phenomenal. Love it!

The best for freshness and quality in the area! Youn is great for answering questions or for creating something new for you to try. If you want a crowd and fancy, go somewhere else, if you want quality and quiet go to Black Pine Tree!

If you are looking for a place to have sushi you must try Black Pine Tree in Southgate, MI. If you have any questions about sushi they can answer your questions. My wife and I go there at least once a week. If you are unsure about eating raw fish they have a large variety of cooked and seared sushi. I recommend this place. It isn't big nor is it fancy. Don't forget to order the Miso soup. I disagree with the Heidi reviews. The staff is friendly and very helpful.

Black Pine Tree in Southgate Michigan, Do not waste your time! They used to be the best Downriver now they are ranked with the sushi you get at the Detroit Tigers Stadium! Don't waste your hard earned money on poor service and poor quality!

This place is nothing like it used to be...Presentation is horrible these days as is customer service! This sushi restaurant used to take pride in their items, both in house and to-go...now both look horrible and far from appetizing. i used to frequent this sushi restaurant 4-6 times a week in 2008, now I only go to fishbones in Detroit! I expressed my concerns and the staff, who hardly speak English, didn't seem concerned they were losing customers. D-

This sushi restaurant gets 5 stars from me! It was the first time I had ever tried sushi, and now it is my FAVORITE meal! They were so helpful and informative, attentive, and nice. The food is excellent! It is a little more expensive than some other restaurants, though I can't compare it to other sushi restaurant prices because this is the ONLY place I go, and have ever been to. =) But look at all the good reviews, you will love it!

I go to the pine tree about 3 times a week the sushi is so addictive! The sushi chef is like a magician with his creative artistic rolls.I love his fabulous creations! Its defintely something to try...
