It was a wonderful night. We arrived from South Florida to attend a wedding reception in the Trenton Hotel, which was held in the second floor banquet room and catered by the staff of the Hotel Grill. This was a fabulous affair. Our dear friends Al & Julie were the toast of the evening. The four course meal was abundant and flavorful. The warm staff saw to our every need. They handled a goup in excess of 100 with gracious ease. We especially loved stolling along the second floor veranda, where fine cigars and well-lit ladies were of abundance. The historic setting was just perfect. A section of the banquet room afforded ample space for a dance floor with music provided by a local DJ. This establishment is a former 19th century hotel, with an exceptionally fine restaurant and a spacious banquet room, that came to life as we celebrated our dear friends' wedding. There was also an autumn festival on the street below, which added to the charm of the chilly October night. This was a special place where two large families came together in a celebration of love. Though we were only two guests in attendance, we can say that all comers had a fantastic time.
Easter Buffet, 2006: Family attended the Easter Buffet, and we all thought it was pretty good. Lots to choose from, something for everyone. There was baked chicken, ham, whitefish, roast beef and lamb, as well as meatless dishes for the vegetarian. There was a salad station, a bar, as well as a dessert station. And the desserts! Everything was wonderful food, and service, but I suggest they invest in a few dessert serving utensils. Tongs work well with meats and rolls, but not coconut cake! Also, we had a 3:30 seating, and they had already run out of shrimp. That was disappointing , to say the least. But, we left with our bellies full , and sedated sweet cravings. The Hotel Grill is an old Victorian-style Hotel, used for showers, and wedding receptions (very romantic). There is an elevator available for dining on the second floor. I enjoyed my family gathering there, and looking forward to going back another time.
