Terrible restuarant and terrible food. I/we haven t been back to this location since they served us melted margarine instead of butter with our breakfast. No way I will ever go back! IHOP here we come always- Dearborn location!
Incompetent waiter. We had a party of 10 and this seemed too much for the waiter. We had to go over order 3 times before he got it correct. 45 minutes later some food arrived. 10 minutes later, a little more. At the 1 hour mark my food had arrived, and was sent back because I had ordered the “crispy chicken” and received grilled. It gets better….10 minutes later he brings back the same chicken, only now it is burnt. I sent it back again and explained what crispy chicken was (it was in the menu as crispy). He said “OOOHHH I thought crispy meant you just wanted it cooked longer. I’ll get you the right one.” 15 minutes later I get a plain crispy chicken breast without any of the topping I had ordered. I asked for a manager at this point, sent my food back and expressed my displeasure and recommended our waiter might be better suited to cleaning the bathrooms. She said I should have ordered it as fried chicken. I promptly corrected her and pointed out it was listed as crispy in the menu.
Same issue as I had with one of the others in our group(chicken sent back 3 times). A third in our group ordered the chicken pot pie and as they pierced the baked top they discovered the bowl was less than ½ full. The kitchen corrected this issue with a new full bowl, and a free side salad.
Nearly 2 hours and poor service/ poor resolution by management. They did take the sandwichs and pot pie off the bill. I will not eat here again.
I went down the road and got Taco Bell. 1 minute and 23 seconds from placing my order to on the road, with what I actually ordered.
Poor service, mediocre food, and shoddy servers. Where can you go to find all 3? Bob Evans Restaurant on Middlebelt Road in Livonia, MI.
I went in after work Friday evening for dinner, to use a coupon that was about to expire. I should have just kept driving and went somewhere else. I got to the restaurant, and had to wait about 10 minutes before they even seated me. Now bear in mind, the place was not very busy and it was not a hectic time of day at all. After finally being seated, and placing my order, I waited about 20 minutes for my food to come (well some of it came anyway).
The server explained that my bread wasn't ready yet, so I sat there with a plate of food, waiting, when I discovered I have no silverware! Isn't this a basic fundamental step of serving at restaurants: to give you eating utensils? I had to ask another server to bring me forks, knives and a spoon at a restaurant....... wow.
I then had to hunt someone down and ask them for a steak knife, after the geniuses gave me a butter knife to use on a steak. So, next thing I know, the guy brought my bread when I'm basically done eating my steak and potatoes. Gee, thanks, dude. I got one of the customer satisfaction survey cards and got up to go pay for my food and leave that terrible restaurant. Upon filling out the survey card, and giving it to the front desk cashier, she stopped me and asks if I had stolen her pen. I'm dead serious!!
Talk about insult to injury: They give horrible service, then accuse me of being a thief. The Bob Evans franchise are the true thieves - thieves of quality customer service and a good dining environment.
Never, ever go to the Bob Evans Restaurant on Middlebelt Road in Livonia, Michigan, if you value competent service, waiters/waitresses with common sense, or a steak that does not appear to be cremated.
Avoid at all costs. 1 star!
New decoration same horrid service both dining in and carry out. Don't bother unless you have time to sit and wait or argue when you pick up. Sad really, because the food is good. Manager is nice but seriously in over his head.
03/10/08 MY FAMILY VISITED YOUR RESTAURANT ON MIDDLEBELT IN LIVONIA MI YESTERDAY AND WE HAD EXCELLENT SERVICE. OUR SERVER WAS KYLE. WE ALL FELT WE HAD A VERY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE AND OUR SERVER WAS WONDERFUL. THANK YOU AND HIM FOR A VERY PLEASANT TIME. K FAMILY LIVONIA MI
This place. like all Bob Evans' ( I have been to 5 or 6) is a disgrace to a find product. Stick to your local supermarket 'tho! The restaurants' service I find is indifferent and nonchelant. The food is always barely warm. I despise cold food! It was tasteless, dry, and not at all like the flavorful product you buy at the market.
After so many visits to these restaurants, I have finally given up! Enough already!
