Bd's Mongolian Barbecue
An interactive and fun, all-you-can-eat create-your-own stir fry restaurant that offers large slices of meat and fish, fresh vegetables, and a large array of spices and sauces. They are open daily for lunch and dinner.
One of the best Mongo franchises. I've played as a musician at quite a few Mongos and quite a few bars in Michigan. This one has great food, great staff, and the most energetic group on the grill. They get into the job, and Ann Arbor provides a great atmosphere to eat, especially during the summer.
I was highly disappointed with my stir fry. It did not taste like real stir fry, the chicken wasn't tender, and the meal itself lacked all flavor. I have had make-your-own stir fry at other restaurants before, but BD's is by far the worst. If you are considering dining there, be warned that it is low quality. You get to take as much food as you want, but it is a bad tradeoff in terms of quality and tastiness.
My family visited mongolian bbq on 9-1-07 and when you are near the salad bar there is an awful odor it smelled like spoiled meat, I told my husband we cannot eat here but it was to late my 14 and 17 year old boys were at the grill with their food needless to say our bill was nearly 100.00 dollars and we had a problem eating the food worried that it was bad. I called the restaurant and was told that the floor is rotten and they are waiting on a permit to replace it.
I have only been to the one in Traverse City and the guys behind the grill were super macho apes. It was not my choice to dine there, as the A2 location seems to be packed with college kids and mostly sneering, obnoxious people. I will say the food was good, but the presentation of the food items, hideous. Many sauce containers lined up with who knows how many raw meat juices and the raw meat sits out for children to put their fingers in. Gross!
I hate this place. It is always overcrowded and the beverages are so overpriced. I mean its great and all you can choose your own creative dish...but how many dirty little children put their hands all over those ingredients before you?
