LA Shish, Dearborn

Food was served COLD. Might have some of the former help, but it's not the same as original -- And NEVER will be.

I had to go back and try it out after reading this add. The original La Shish restaurant, at 12918 Michigan Ave. in Dearborn, is scheduled to reopen under new ownership in time for Monday's lunch crowd. I was skeptic about the same recipes and cooks, but I was amazed, the new owners are on top of this establishment. The food was to die for, service was flawless, thank you lashish

5-17-2011 - The NEW La Shish falls short on my first visit this evening. I ordered the lamb and rice stuffed grape leaves appetizer and for &9.99 got 7 puny, apparently microwaved, (dried out) grape leaves with not much more than rice in them. The large hommous was not very large for $7.49. The chicken shawarma sandwich was good for the $3.99 price and I only had one piece of un-chewable cartiladge. I do hope they can improve with time. I live in Chicago and found this restaurant on route to Clinton Township. It has the most fresh and tasty food I've hand anywhere in the midwest including Chicago. We ordered 5 different things and all were perfect.

No matter what I order, everything just tastes perfect.

The lamb was a little dry on my most recent visit, but usually pretty good. The portions are unusually large.

By far the best Middle Eastern Cuisine in the United States. And I would know, as i'm Lebanese. There food is healthy, fresh, and delicious. It even tastes as if it were homemade!
