Cafe Zola is fun, eclectic, romantic and the food is exotic and yummy. We always went for the anti-pasto plate for an appetizer, sharing it and feeding each other from time to time. I've had the scallops on a bed of spinach(dreamy) and my date had grilled swordfish and sometimes mahi mahi on a plank. Desserts are sumptious and to be shared. My date always ordered the delicious Turkish coffee conjuring up his days spent there. The servers were always friendly, polite and prompt. They made an effort to chat us up without going overboard. The lighting and ambience is great for a romantic date and the cocktails are superb. I love retro drinks and have ordered sidecars along with martinis and Cosmopolitans. It's a little pricey, but worth every dollar! Bon Appetite!
I've been to Zola a few times and have to say that I'm not that impressed. The service is horrible. The server was incredibly forgetful and not very friendly. The food is decent, but $50 for breakfast for 2 (with no alcoholic beverages or specialty coffee drinks) is outrageous!
The service and wait were so horrible that the food lost its flavor. We had reservations and waited 25 mins and then waited 50 minutes for our food. We ate in 15 mins since we had to leave for an appt. Additionally, their attitude was that they were busy, which they were, and that it is my problem...no apologize.
Some of the food is good, but on average is way too expensive. The service, however, is horrible. The host was rude and although we got our food quickly we sat for forty-five minutes after our plates had been cleared waiting for a check while watching our waiter talk to another man. I have never not tipped a server because it's a hard job and I've been there, but this was truly the worst service I have ever seen.
