My wife and I went to the Gandy Dancer to celebrate our anniversary. I ordered the most expensive meal on the menu at $35. It had lobster, crab legs, clams, corn, etc, I got one crab leg about the size of a pencil. I asked for the manager to complain. The manager acted like she didn't know what to do. She returned with one more crab leg as small as the first one. I told the wait person I was not paying for the meal. She calmed me down by taking the wine off the bill. I will never go back!
My friends and I thought it might be a good idea to go out to lunch this last Thanksgiving and we chose the Gandy Dancer. Past experiences have always been good: but something changed this last Thansgiving. Perhaps it was the fact that greed got the better of them! From the moment we stepped into the place it was clear that there were more guests than the staff could reasonably cater for. The food was definitley lacklustre and the service irratic. Not a good experience at all.
Maybe the lesson is to stay at home on holidays and cook your own meal!
The moment I walked into Gandy Dancer, I was immediately smitten. It was intimate and classy...very romantic. They have a very good selection of seafood - lots of fish choices. I had the Macadamia encrusted Mahi. OH MY..it was a generous serving and it was encrusted to perfection!
I'm really looking forward to trying the buffet brunch now that I know the food (esp seafood) here is fantastic.
This was the worst dinner and the worst dining experience my family and I have had in a long time! We came here for my Mother’s birthday and to shop for a place to have a rehearsal dinner for our upcoming wedding. With this said, the only thing memorable about this place was getting out!! The cocktails were pathetic, the wine was mediocre at best, and the food cold. Not to mention the dirty wine glass, the dirty bread dish, and the dirty bathrooms. What a sad display of what should have been a wonderful dinner. Do not eat here.
