I just found this restaurant 3 weeks ago, and love it. I can go there for lunch from my office nearby and my wife is always up for a visit. I have probably been there 6 or 8 times in 3 weeks and it has not disappointed. The best Lunch special is the Lamb Shanks on Wednesday or Thursday (call and check).
The Shrimp Cilantro (everyday appatizer) is really excellent. The Crushed Lentil Soup is a must; I get it every time.Combine the two and you have a great lunch.
I came from Chicago to visit my friend in Troy. We always go for Arabic food. She brought me to this restaurant since it was close to her apartment. We ordered kibbeh/kibee which was delicious. We ordered hummus (again delicious). Our entrees consisted of rice, ground lamb kebab and a dinner salad. The kebab was the worst I have ever had. Way too much salt! Our server was very forgetful and sarcastic. Though we did leave over a 20 percent tip (I am also a server in Chicago). Unfortunately, since I am in the business I wouldn't go back
due to the poor service and rude attitude of the server. For $14.00 per entree I wouldn't go back for the kebab either. It's Detroit area there are tons of great arabic restaurants. Hopefully you have a better experience than we did or don't waste your time and go to an Arabic restaurant that has better reviews! Happy eating!
A great and downscaled alternative to La Shish. The crushed lentil soup is a must as well as the fresh juices (especially the lemon)! Vegetarians and non-veggies will find plenty to choose from. Quick service too.
