We've been going to Little Saigon for a while now and it's simply the best. Since the last review (below) the place has upgraded a little (2 TVs! One on each end of the place!) and it's no longer as barren as before.
But what you come here for is the food. The Pho is the best in town. Generous bowls filled with rich broths, slices of meat and rice noodles. They don't mind taking special requests (my kids don't like cilantro, tendon, etc) and the service is fast. My one gripe (and this is a general thing I know of some Asian restaurants) it'll be hard to get the server to refill a water, get another soda, etc. Take cue from this and it will not be an insult or inappropriate. Flag the guy down. Wave a hand (after he's done taking an order, of course) and he'll come.
Look, these small Pho's (as many of these Vietnamese soup houses are called) may not be versed in table service - but again it's the food: tasty spring rolls, rice plates with flavorful beef and veggies and more. You'll be surprised.
This new place in Clawson - DaNang. I'm not here to slam competition, but I just saw their menu and their pricing on their Pho. They want $10-$12 depending on the kind. Are they serious? Is it that much more expensive west of the 75 freeway? Take a drive east and seriously, save a few bucks and still have the best Pho.
