absolutely amazing!!! the food is the best. i have never had anything that i didnt love. i have never tried there pizza but the rest of the food is great. they are very friendly and nice. the prices are super low especially considering the quailiity of the food is so good. i was shocked at how yummy everything was. it was recomened by a friend otherwise i prob would not have thought they would have such great food based on the appernce of the building. i wish they would open one closer to my home so i didnt have to drive from northville to get such great food. keep up the great job!!
I'm forced to work in Hazel Park and the food pickin's are slim. Between two guys and Pi's Thai I can almost survive the week without heading somewhere else for a decent meal.
I'm from Boston and New York so I think I know good east coast pizza and I definitely thing Two Guys from Italy is the best place in Hazel Park. If you consider the price, it could be the best pizza value around.
I've also had the chicken parm which is really great. I'll try some other dishes soon based upon other folks' reviews.
Another thing: They make great a great canoli.
This place is insane with quality! Great pizza, Italian sub is awesome, old school style... and I've tried almost every Italian dish they have, they are all excellent! Best part, all of their food is baked in the oven the way it should be, no stupid conveyer belt processing it through at high speed under some cranked up blasting heat! Will continue to eat here while I live in the area and would drive out of my way to come back!!! Enjoy!
I've tried most of the places in Hazel Park after living here for about two years. This place is one I always comes back to. If you're looking for Deep Dish, go to Geno's, but for east-coast, NY style pies this is the place. Not owned by the same guys on the east side of town, near Centerline, so don't compare if you used to live over there like I did. The old Italian guy in Hazel Park was bragging the first time I went in how much his ingredients are better then the other locations around Detroit.
They use REAL mushrooms (any pizza place that doesn't is crap unless you're paying Little Sleazers prices) and the sauce has a good flavor, not sweet or watery like some places.
Yes, the pizza is a little greasy, but thats from using a higher quality cheese. If your pizza is dry and crumbly on the cheese, it's from cheap cheese. It's not overly greasy, as you don't get pools of grease forming, but it definately is going to be greasier then some places.
The Cheese Bread is the best in Hazel Park, period.
Pizza 1, Pizza Connection, Nick's Pizza, Grinders, are all within a mile of this place, and they all suck for one reason or another. A lot of them use canned mushrooms, a sure sign of cheapness. Geno's is fabulous, but you have to go there only for the deep dish.
The only thing missing from TGFI is that they don't have spinich or feta on the menu. Other then that, this place is wonderful.
I'd like to hear from anyone who thinks there's a better pizza place within two miles of the I-75 / 9 Mile Interchange.
I agree with ryan s. The pizza WAS greasy and to me it didn't taste like anything. I would have fair better just drinking a glass of water because that's what the pizza taste like, water. If you ask me...get some Happy's from Madison. Now that my friend that's pizza. They understand that pizza should taste good.
