Jane's Gourmet Deli & Catering, Lafayette

Jane has good lunch food in a nice informal dining atmosphere. Her menu is simple (basically soup/sandwich and variants) but varies seasonally. Her soups are excellent and available for carryout. She also has a wide variety of interesting beverages (including Sprecher's Root Beer, my favorite), plus many interesting boutique style foods and wines and a large selection of Godiva chocolates. Jane herself is unfailingly pleasant and friendly. The service can sometimes be a little spotty, but that's barely a blemish on this great lunch place. She also serves a formal gourmet meal for couples on Valentine's Day -- sign up early to reserve a seat!
