Acropolis, Evansville

One of the best places I have ever eaten at, the entire time I was eating, I was full of MMMM's and OHHHH's , even my husband who doesnt get excited about food was full of Noises lol, Absolutely will eat here again over and over again, Im still eating leftover from two days ago!! SOO much food at a GREAT price!!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Acropolis is amazing from the moment you step foot in the restaurant. The ambience and atmosphere are beautiful and you will feel like you've been taken away to an exotic place - and all in good taste. The food is THE MOST DELICOUS FOOD I'VE EVER TASTED. Seriously. The hummus is to die for - not that gray, pasty, grocery-store stuff you tend to gawk at. It is bursting with flavor and is paired well with the savory pita strips. It can be a meall all in itself just based on taste. The feta cheese was also top notch - not dry and crumbly but vittles of fresh, creamy feta. I had the Chicken Lemonati and was totally blown away by it! Some people told me Acropolis wasn't that good and I'm glad I went out and tried it for myself. You should too! The Chicken Limonati was creamy, savory and just delicious. It has thin sliced mushrooms, warm/sweet tomatoes, tender baby artichokes and small bits of grilled chicken served over rice (good rice, not that weird seasoned pilaf-type stuff they serve elsewhere). The sauce strikes the perfect balance of savory and only has a slight hint of lemon - so don't worry it won't be tangy and the lemon flavor is not as forward as one would think. I had a great glass of Riesling (white wine) will munching on the pita strips and hummus and it was magic together. Their staff is more than just friendly and uber-knowledgeable about wine - especially German white wines (Riesling, Gewurtztraminer) - she knows who she is! The wine list is extensive with a great selection of some Greek wines. Overall? LOVED IT and you will too.

The food at Acropolis is excellent!! I haven't tried anything there that I did no like. We rented out their old building for our wedding reception and had them cater our food. We had several people tell us how much they liked the food. It is a great place to go to eat or to have cater your event.

If you have ever been to Greece you would realize that this place is not authentic at all. Sorry, but I have been to Greece a bunch of times and it's not authentic!

I have been waiting some time to eat at this restaurant, and it was well worth the wait. The restaurant was very nicely decorated. It felt like a very high class restaurant for the average person. The food was out of this world. It was well flavored, and they had a wide variety to chose from. I will defintely go back as soon as I can.

This is a fantastic restaurant to eat at if you are wanting to try something a little different, but not out of the ordinary. The food is excellent, not to mention the service. The wait staff are very attentive. One thing to try is the sampler-you get a little of everydish. Enjoy!!

I absolutely loved the atmosphere of the Acropolis. It felt like I was in the Mediterranian. The food was amazing. It had very rich and luxerious flavors. The free pita bread appetizers were also splendid. This food is very authentic Greek cuisine. It was excellent.
