Stables Steakhouse, Terre Haute

Before you go,...make sure your not hungry before nine thirty unless you have reservations, which was not listed here on this search or maybe my eyesight is poor due to my hungry appetite for steak.

I cannot wait to go back!! This was the most I have ever spent on a meal; however IT WAS WORTH IT!!!! Best food and service ever. We liked Ike our server, fantastic.

What a great surprise! In town on business for a few days and took a chance on an unknown restaurant. Great steak, great atmosphere. This will be the first stop on the next trip to Terre Haute.

Excellent food. Wait staff was friendly and prompt. Great atmosphere. The grilled veggies were to die for and the jumbo shrimp were truly jumbo.

Stables always has a good atmosphere and a good menu. The waiters are excellent and honest about the food quality. I asked about the lobster tail and he said they have them but he said we should skip it this week because they were not of their normal quality. Then I ordered an excellent steak instead. The wine list is very good. It is probably the highest price restaurant in Terre Haute, but worth it.

Horse stables that were converted into a resturant, where you eat at a table in the dark wood stalls with candle lighting- basically sums up the very unique atmosphere of Stables. The food is execllent. The wine list very good. And the service always very friendly and professional. I have been many times, and I am going back soon. The best place to eat in Wabash Valley for just a nice night out or for a special occasion.

For a building as old as it is, it sure does offer the feeling of a new place. It's a smaller place, perfect for those intamite dinners with loved ones. The food was outstanding and one of the better places to eat in the Wabash Valley area.

I have three words for everyone......French Onion Soup!! That dish alone places Stables head and shoulders above other fine dining establishments in the area. And thats just the beginning! Five times I have had the pleasure of dining there several times, and each visit was better than the one before. The building provides unmatched atmosphere and ambience, the service is unparalled, and the food is beyond compare. One would expect to drop several hundred dollars on a meal of this caliber. Not so. My guest and I were left totally satisfied for less than one hundred dollars. I didn't even look to see if the gratuity was included before I placed a fifty on the table, but either way, it was worth it.
