Bistro 501, Lafayette

The night was enchanting... Our most recent trip to the Bistro was on Saturday the 4th of April.As luck would have it, we had the same waitress that we had for our family Christmas dinner. Robin took extraordinary care of my date and myself. The pork was tough, but that is the character of this type of meat, the bread pudding was delightful, the salad was peculiar. I had much better luck with the pecan crusted trout. I had this dish for Christmas, and it was out of this world. I was however taken back by the patrons. This is supposed to be our spot to go to dress up, clean up and live a little better, if only for the 2 hours at dinner. It is a beautiful spot to take your girl and have dinner and I always enjoy it.

Im very impressed. I looked for a little more upscale dining in the lafayette/west Lafayette area and found this to be the best. Short drive from Purdue and very delicious meals made it worth while. Knowledgable and friendly staff made it even better. The 20-25 dollars/plate was worth it for a nice evening meal. The steak I had was excellent as was the chicken my girlfriend had.

Great, upscale dining. Food is terrific, service and decor very good. A favorite lunch or dinner destination!

I go a lot more often if I could have brunch there following a visiting the Farmer's Market. With the great widow seating available, people watching would become a regular Saturday morning pastime.

Talk about high class, large proportions, and a great lunch menu at a great rate. I take clients here all the time. Talk about great soups and salads! They even make their own dressings! Their bar is stocked with the best and its a great place to socalize with local business people and I even managed to score a date there a time or two. Evening is more formal and more expensive but totally worth a romantic dinner with someone you want to impress!

I have taken many a friend to this - my favorite chic place to dine. The escargo appetizer is gorgeous and enough for two to share. It helps to have local friends running the place and the decor beats martha stewart hands down The wines are scrumptuous and the service here is extraordinary - what's not to love!

Bistro 501 is where I met my ex, Matt. It was during the Main Street Historical Art Days--it beautifully set, it was just an amazing place to be... The energy was phenomenal....

The atmosphere is great and the food is even better. This is a great place to go with friends or a date. My compliments to the chef!
