We haven t been there in years, but after reading in the HT, that Dennis and Chris Grubb purchased it this past May, my wife and I decides to check it out. We were not disappointed! Great atmosphere and food. The food is made from scratch and it shows. They have outdoor seating that overlooks beautiful scenery. It s definitely a good place to eat and worth the trip.
We stopped in for lunch and ordered the turkey hot sandwich and beef hot sandwich. We were greeted right away and everyone was friendly. The food was homemade and sooooo good. Large portions and had plenty to bring home for supper. We will stop to eat here again.
theres no doubt half these positive comments are from the owners wife/waitress. my experience with these penny pinching lowballers ended when i did a tranny rebuild for them. I removed the tranny from some rusty truck rebuilding it and re-installing it for 400 dollars! i asked for 500. still a bargain. i even repaired wires some rats from the resturant chewed up for free!
truck shifted great. chump looks under it and tries to blame me
for the brake fluid leaking. its not even near the trans.
JUST BAD BUSINESS...STAY AWAY FROM THESE LOWBALLERS!
If I could give this restaurant no stars, I would. Our waitress--the owner--was the most rude individual my family and I have ever dealt with. The food was average. The owner very rude about a steak cooked improperly. Refusing to have the steak cooked more well done--she then refused to comp us for the steak--not the meal, just the steak. She harassed us at our table, at the register, and outside in the parking lot. Her husband--the cook--was very pleasant. But unfortunately powerless to mitigate his wife's venomous personality. I will never eat at this establishment again, nor would I recommend it to my worst enemy. Don't do it, just don't waste your time or money. A more pleasant dining experience awaits you at the McDonalds down the road.
it was almost a year between my visits as this is were we normally have had a family christmas get together for the last 4 years or so. things had definatley changed between visits. I was very dissappointed. the specials are gone which shrinks the already limited selections. the prime rib they used to serve is the best i've ever had and the lady taking orders was rude when i asked about why it wasn't on the menu anymore. the food just wasn't as good or as hot as it once was. there is a different ambiance now and the staff wasn't friendly. the food is eidible but i definately wouldn't take someone i was trying to impress there.
I am from Spencer, and have enjoyed the food here many times. I have never had a bad expirence, and the ribs are the best I have ever had. To show my credibilty I am a culinary student and a BBQ critic. The steak is also excelent! All the prices are very reasonable. If you are interested there is also some intersting history when you get their.
This place is the best! The food is to die for, and the family style dining makes ordering easy. The fried chicken is the best around, even the pieces have gotten smaller while the price has gone up. Occasionally I would like the choice of a baked potato instead of mashed (they taste instant). And the desserts are wonderful, especially the mud cake. Only thing wrong is the serving sizes have gotten smaller compared with the price. The prices for everything else is very reasonable.
