Food is really good, I would absolutely go there again. It gets expensive quickly. Tap beer is $5 a pint, sandwiches/gyros are typical and reasonable in price but if you want anything to go with it (fries, onion rings) you're going to spend another $5. So small portioned meals end up being $14+. It's good, don't get me wrong, just not a place a typical grad student can afford to go to often.

After reading these reviews maybe we dined at this place on a bad day. The waitress thought she was being funny but was down right rude. The service was slow and she didn't bring all the salads at the same time and after asking about it took several more minutes to get it with no apology on her part. The portions were way to small for the prices even though the food was good but it was not great. I will never eat at this place again!!!!!

The service here was absolutely excellent! My guest and I sat down, ordered, and in less than 5 minutes had our entrees. Our waitress was exceptionally friendly, and helped me try a new beer (they carry local brews) Just make sure you're in the mood for authentic Greek food. This place is great!

Great service, FAST take-out and amazing food make this place a MUST eat. I never had a gyro until I had theirs and it makes me crave another one. Amazing food - you have to eat here even if only once!

We ate lunch there in late May and the food was delicious. I had the Greek sampler, which was a huge portion for very little money. Their menu was extensive and everything was good. The service was also very pleasant.

A Long Time Favorite
By Jenny, 10/2/05
Once upon a time in Bloomington, there was a hole-in-the-wall Greek restaurant called Zeus' Gyros and a nautical-themed bar called the Brigantine. Then one day, a fire destroyed the restaurant and it was reborn among the dark wood and port holes of the former Brigantine as the Trojan Horse. The Trojan Horse features a nice mixture of Greek and American dishes. You might start out with some tasty hummus or cheese pa-rer, a feta-cheese spread that is nearly addictive. In the mood for something more traditional? Try some of the fried vegetables--onion rings, mushrooms or green peppers (yes, green peppers!) Can't decide--you can order a sampler with all three. For a small fee, order a side of extra zaziki sauce to dip your veggies. For a festive touch, try the Saganaki. Gyros are available both as a sandwich and a platter. For a lighter approach, try the chicken gyros. There are also Greek samplers if you can't make up your mind. Try to save room for dessert--the baklava ice cream is amazing!

Trojan Horse Ranks #1 Favorite with Me!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/8/05
When my husband asked me randomly one day - "what one restaurant would you eat at if you could eat anywhere?" I said, without hesitation, "the Trojan Horse!!!" First off, service is top notch - fast, friendly, and never a mistake (every visit!)! Prices are totally reasonable! No need to break the budget! The menu is Greek and American enough for anyone to be satisfied with the selection! Some of my favorites: Sangria Wine before dinner. Dolmas, Cheesepa'rer, Tabouleh, and Saganaki. The pitas are the best you've ever had - always hot and fresh. For dessert, try Baklava.

Great Greek at a Great Price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/20/05
The Trojan Horse is authentic Greek food that is fantastic, fast, that is served by a friendly and open wait-staff. The pita & hummus or the Cheesepar'er & pita are meals in and of themselves. Walking in, The Trojan Horse feels like an old-town restaurant and bar. There is nothing particularly "Greek" about the atmosphere, but the food makes up for the average decor. There is something on the Trojan Horse menu that is guaranteed to satisfy every appetite--from the chicken pasta salad to the greek salad and lamb gyros, you will leave full (and still have money in your wallet). If you're up for a unique treat, try the breaded dill pickles. They're hot, so let them cool, but a pickle-lovers dream food. The Trojan Horse also offers a full bar and a variety of soft drinks and water and is a non-smoking restaurant.
