Dragon Express LLC, Bloomington

While living in Bloomington, I would eat at the Dragon Express several times a week. The food was always really good and reasonably priced as well. I especially liked Gen. Tso's chicken. I'm hungry!

I got Dragon Express for the first time tonight. I had to leave a review. I got the sweet and sour chicken. It was REALLY good. The pork fried rice with it was the best pork fried rice I've ever had, and the egg roll wasn't bad either. The price was impressive...about 6 bucks for a dinner combo. The only thing I was upset about was the guy answering the phone and working the counter...he acted like he'd rather be walking on broken glass than being there working. Also...they didn't accept a debit/credit card. It's 2008, almost 2009...time to get a credit card machine. But the food was really really good.

Yess....the Dragon used to feed me once or twice a week for about 2 years. I don't even eat meat and yet the 2 or 3 things on the menu was good enough to repeat, over and over again. I always get either the Tofu (bean curd) with Garlic Sauce or Homestyle Tofu--and when I'm in no mood for tofu, I'll just get the Vegetable Lo Mein. Best ever.

Probably the best Chinese take out in Town, not at a bad price either.

Bloomington is a college town and is not known for its fine Chinese food. However, this takeout joint in the heart of campus is good food at good prices. Get takeout, because the atmosphere is about as delicate and lovely as a gravel pit. But, having visited every other Chinese restaurant in B-town, I cannot imagine ever taking my business elsewhere. And it's open till 11.

The work crew and I get take out from the Dragon about 2x a month. The food is fresh, fast, and cheap. I'm a fan of the vegetable lo mein, general's chicken, and veggie egg rolls. My co-worker swears by the tofu w/garlic sauce. Great take out, and a good value. There is ample dine-in space, but not much ambience to speak of, so plan to take out. One problem is parking. There's no real place to park if you're picking up food, so it's best suited for walking on a lunch hour from campus.

The Dragon Express is a place that looks a little run down and unclean, but once you get past the awful pictures that show your meal choices, you might even be a bit surprised by the quality of the food. Obviously you won't be expecting much when you see the place, but it has been very good each time that I've taken out from The Dragon Express. One thing that might keep people from going there is that they don't contain the mainstream chicken teryiaki. PROS: Good food, one of a kind. CONS: Seems run down and unkept.
