This place used to be a nice Italian restaurant, it is no more. Firstly, they have lost their liquor license, so we were unable to have a glass of wine with our dinner. Secondly, the food was mediochre. Thirdly, we were not offered cheese on our dishes as before, nor olive oil with the bread. These little things were what made it better than some. This place is not even as nice as the chain Olive Garden at this point. It is sad because it's along 4th Street with a lot of other nice restaurants. Don't waste your time on this one, spend your $ at other locals and actually have a great meal.

Our son gave us a gift certificate for Puccini's Restaurant. We went to an IU game and decided to use the gift certificate. I cannot imagine anyone writing a bad review for this restaurant. First of all the young lady that served us was excellant. She was constantly checking on us to make sure we were satisfied in every way. The food was excellent! We also had desert which was the top of the line. We has taramsui. It was excellent. I would definately recommend this restaurant and on my next trip to Bloomington I will return because of the superb service and the great food.

Do not bring a date here. For any reason. The food is unappealing, the atmosphere is cramped, and the service alternates between overbearing and completely inept.

This place is horrible. The quality of pasta is better at your local Fazoli’s. Plus they were out of olive oil. What kind of Italian restaurant doesn’t have olive oil. We never had a waiter, it was the host the whole time and he apparently didn’t know what he was doing. He bit my head off when I asked for olive oil. This is my second time here and the only reason I went back a second time is because I had a gift certificate. My first time was many years ago and I think it might have been worse this time. Apparently the folks that wrote the good reviews have never had real Italian. I mean it is pretty bad when Fazoli’s (a fast food place) quality is better when they are horrible too.

Best Italian Food you'll ever have
By endthedrugwar, 9/8/06
Fantastic Selection of Italian Delights. From Caprese, Calamari, Brie Al Forno on the appatizer menu, to the Hearty Lasagna, Ahi Tuna over Risotto, and dishes with Rich, Buttery, Tomatoey, Kalamata Olive, Garlic, Parmessian and Olive oil goodness. Desserts will finish you off appropriately and a full bar and great wine Menu to Quench the most refined Thirst. It's a must if you are in Bloomington

Perfect Date Restaurant
By Neil Mangus, 4/27/06
This place was great. The food wasn't expensive at all for how good it was. I loved the art on the walls and the service was comparable to any four star restaurant I've ever been to. The servers kept filling up our waters whenever we took a few sips. The filet was cooked to perfection and the tiramisu was outstanding. And I loved the ambience; the lights were dim and the Italian music was very romantic. It really is the perfect place to take a date.
