We were new to town, and many people on campus suggested Yogi's. We went there with friends and had four different dishes, all of which were sampled by everyone. There is nothing good about this place. The food is awful, the service is even worse. Will not go back.
This place used to have the best atmosphere and food in Bloomington. Things have slowly gone downhill. The last straw for me was when I was back in town and went to get my favorite Cajun Chicken Hoagie and the delicious homemade tasting French bread had been replaced by some manufactured Wonder bun. My server told me everyone has the same complaint but that they are not going to change. Way to ruin a great thing.
The drinks are tasty as always, but food has gone downhill. Other menu disappointments from the glory days:
- The smokehouse menu was gone, no more tasty BBQ
- The salads no longer come with those tasty corn muffins
- The fries has been changed to some nasty waffle fries.
The place was fairly empty on the night I was there, students were in town so it should have been packed. I guess all good things come to an end at some point.
Good bye old friend.
I studied for my qualifying exams there - and passed them. The buffalo chips (potatoes) are excellent - as well as the mini-pitchers of beer. Sandwiches are great and the staff is friendly and knows that you're there to watch the game and relax.
Tonight was the first time I'd been to Yogi's after wanting to try it for a little over a year. I had the Sirloin dinner which was cooked just the way I ordered it (very well done) the first time. Not only, was it totally cooked; it was also very tender. The salad was very fresh and crisp and the cajun buffalo chips were a delight. I topped it off with the fried apples for dessert. Everything was very tasty. I can't wait to go back and try something else.
Ok ok ok....I have to admit....having worked there at one point, probably influenced my review somewhat....but it's still an awesome place. I used to go there like all the time, which is why I ended up working there. I love that place.
