Hands down the best sushi I've had! I don't have a favorite because I love them all! Their teriyaki chicken/steak is really good too. The atmosphere is quiet and intimate. It would be nice if they could expand. Their waiting area and also a larger area for big groups would be a huge plus. Be prepared to wait FOREVER on the weekends in a crowded waiting area if you do not have a reservation (with 6 or more people). This doesn't stop me, of course... I love Asakusa!

Had the suki-yaki, shrimp and vegetable tempura, sushi appetizer, spicy crunchy salmon roll, spicy tuna roll, tamago, white tuna. Service was so so, as she forgot to give us the rice that came with the meal. Bill came out to $71, and with tip, about $80. Meal seemed ok, but 1/2 hour later, after we left, we found ourselves all visiting the bathroom multiple times for severe diarrhea, and abdominal cramps. Not a great experience. We cancelled the rest of our shopping and rushed home. Wondering about avoiding this place on a Sunday......

This is my favorite restaurant for my boyfriend and I to attend. We have always been pleased with their food. My favorite is the Red Dragon Roll. Our food always tastes fresh and the waiting period to receive our food after ordering is minimal compared to most sushi restaurants we have eaten in. It is a quiet, peaceful atmosphere...which is a bonus for dining in restaurants. Downside is the heavy waiting period you have on nights/weekends. Unless your party is 6people or more, you cannot make a reservation and waiting period to get a table can take anywhere from 15min to 1hr 45min. All in all, we love Asakusa!

Our table was by waiting area. People kept bumping into our table. Staff would not do anything to keep people back. Food was OK.

average food compared to what it used to be. It's a very popular restaurant now & both the service & atmosphere have diminished as a result. There is no time to linger in an adult admosphere, while having a nice dinner Last night our entree came immediately after the salad was served & we listened to children misbehaving the whole time. The servers are very rushed & frazzled due to the crowd. Asakusa needs to expand it's seating area if it has any hope of regaining the wonderful atomsphere, service & food it used to have. It should also consider having a separate family room from the adult room.

I was on a business trip to Ft. Wayne and decided to try Asakusa Japanese Restaurant. I usually try at least one Sushi Restaurant/Bar when I'm visiting a city. I chose Asakusa because of the high reviews, so there was a lot of expectation. I was not impressed with the sushi at all. I eat Sushi about 4-5 times a week, either making it at home or eating out. I tried the Alamo Roll and the Golden Roll. Compared and to other Sushi Restaurants this place was just average, nothing special. The Restaurant was nicely decorated and clean, and food was ok but was nothing special. Definately not worthy of the high reviews.

The Hawaiian Roll is to die for! A little pricier than some other options but worth every penny! I've eaten several different kinds of sushi here and I've never been disappointed! There are some raw items on the menu, but I don't do sashimi. My friends all say the raw items are delicious, though! The one and only downside to this restaurant is their tempura. It looks impressive, comes in a boat, and the presentation is fun and interesting. Unfortunately, the tempura dishes have a strange seasoning in the batter that tastes like some kind of soap. I tried it for the first time and didn't like it at all but thought I would give it a second try a few months later and the reaction was the same! I don't care for their tempura, but the Hawaiian roll makes up for what the tempura lacks!

I have had sushi in Indianapolis, Chicago, Las Vegas, and New York -- and the best sushi I have ever had is from Asakusa. I especially like the Bonsai and Crazy Maki rolls. Another favorite is the Tokyo Roll.
