This place has been nothing but an embaresment to the entire downtown area. It is known as "the gay diner". Anyone who eats there and tells somone is known
as "a gay diner". The only reason Cindy's hasn't gone under, is all the free publicity it recived from the lesbians and gays in the area. A good example was on the six o'clock news where they would zoom in on Cindy's. For abou 30 seconds. For how many months? Or the the newpapers, giving all the frree writ-ups. Over all the other places in the downtown area.
The other diner's in Fort Wayne could not compete with all the free publicty they recived!
The two examples I will give will be The hobby house, a real 1950's diner. Located about two blocks east on the same street. And The tiny Tim diner, started in 1934. One block west of Cindy's, the newspapers tried to say they went under after the smoking ban took place. This is a lie, Cindy's went smokles two weeks before it went into effect..
Lastly a joke, at the tiny tim diner. One of the woman on the police force. She would ride the horse patrol, she rode through Sweeny park(it was part of her route). Cindy got mad at her, chased her out? She desturbed her customers in the bushes!
