I've been staying in a downtown hotel for the past 6 months while working here, and always look forward to visiting Cindy's for breakfast and lunch. This is some of the best food in the Ft Wayne area. John is a great cook and Angie is the best server. Thanks for making my stay in Ft Wayne an enjoyable experience.

Cindy's Diner is one of the best Diners I have ever been too! The breakfast dish "Garbage" is to die for! It is a real mom and pop run diner with the best diner food in the world. I spent many morning studying there eating Garbage when I was in college. This diner is always busy and moves people in and out to server every customer as fast as they can. The view who wrote that Cindy's is a gay diner must live under a rock because all my friends go to Cindy's and none of them are gay! I have even been there when former Days of our Lives soap star Drake Hogestyn and his wife and kids were there! When ever he comes into town he goes to Cindy's Diner too! The reason why other diner in town closed was because there food was aweful not because Cindy's chased them out of business. I now live out of town but go home three or four times a year and the first place I stop is Cindy's diner.

This place has been nothing but an embaresment to the entire downtown area. It is known as "the gay diner". Anyone who eats there and tells somone is known as "a gay diner". The only reason Cindy's hasn't gone under, is all the free publicity it recived from the lesbians and gays in the area. A good example was on the six o'clock news where they would zoom in on Cindy's. For abou 30 seconds. For how many months? Or the the newpapers, giving all the frree writ-ups. Over all the other places in the downtown area. The other diner's in Fort Wayne could not compete with all the free publicty they recived! The two examples I will give will be The hobby house, a real 1950's diner. Located about two blocks east on the same street. And The tiny Tim diner, started in 1934. One block west of Cindy's, the newspapers tried to say they went under after the smoking ban took place. This is a lie, Cindy's went smokles two weeks before it went into effect.. Lastly a joke, at the tiny tim diner. One of the woman on the police force. She would ride the horse patrol, she rode through Sweeny park(it was part of her route). Cindy got mad at her, chased her out? She desturbed her customers in the bushes!

Glad to hear this place is still great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/22/07
I have only been here once almost 17 years ago while my future wife was on an internship. From the reviews I've read the place has not changed at all. I still have very fond memories of a Sunday breakfast having the garbage omelet. Unforgettable. I am an architect and absolutely loved the well preserved streamline moderne architecture, a true gem for the city. Memories of this place make me want to plan a trip there from our home in the Chicago burbs.

cindys
By Blu, 9/23/06
Before I lived in fort wayne Cindys was the coolest thing. My friends and I would load up in the car on our way too subterrianian, and we'd always make a stop there. The owners always funny, there's always good conversation, foods great, and if you look at the calander for april 22 my weddings on it. I couldn't imagine Fort Wayne with out Cindys, you shouldn't either.

Spectacular
By Charles, 7/24/06
A trip to downtown Fort Wayne without a stop at Cindy's Diner is worse than a day without sunshine. After all, we can't control the weather, but we can decide whether or not to stop in where the elite meet to eat. I can't imagine consciously passing up the opportunity for a heaping helping of "garbage" at this landmark diner - and you shouldn't either: it's just that good!

fabulous diner experience mixes with friendly atmosphere
By cassie, 12/30/05
Upon first entering this cozy 50's style diner, one is immediatly intrigued by the authentic atmosphere. The juke boxes lining the counter, the shiny red stools, and the black and white tiled floor make for great eye candy. The service is friendly and punctual, and the food is delicious on any day (especially the garbage, which may sound shaky but is quite delightful to the tongue)! My experiences (which include a weekly visit every sunday after church with my family) are exceedingly better each time. So take a time warp to the sock hoppin' 50's and enjoy a great retro-dining experience.
