Hacienda Mexican Restaurants, South Bend

The following is the email I sent to Hacienda corporate after MY LAST visit to their restaurant: I visited your South Bend, IN restaurant on Fri 2-18-11 with some friends and was not at all satisfied with the service. Our server "XXXXX" was very slow getting our drinks, we received our drinks almost ten minutes after ordering (keep in mind we're eating dry chips and spicy salsa this whole time). We had to ask for every little thing and then wait to get it - XXXXX was not pro-active to our needs at all ( napkins, more salsa, another Coke, etc.). When I did finally see her ( she wasn't available very much during our dinner ) and I did ask for another Coke it was at least Ten minutes before she brought my drink - by then I had finished my meal. She brought our bill and then disappeared again - I finally gave the bill and cash to a manager who must have found XXXXX and gave it to her. XXXXX then asked me IF I needed any change back, which is the same as asking for a tip. My friends also picked -up on this and we commented on how rude and poorly trained XXXXX was. My friends were the ones who suggested Hacienda- they sort of apologized. Our bill for three was approx $47.00 ( we all split the bill). I expected better from a national chain like Hacienda. To top it all off the food really is not very good - for the money we spent we could have gotten good food at any number of REAL Mexican restaurants in the area!!!

Get the Chicken Chimichanga. Good salsa and free chips. What more do you want?

Honestly, I have had only one marginal experience, and it had to do with a waiter and not the food. It ia always hot and tasty, and the service is generally up to the task. Try again all who have had a bad experience.

I had always thought the old Hacienda in Scotsdale was pretty good, till Hacienda sold out to a food group , then it went so far down hill, that I tried every location in the area hoping that maybe I was mistaken. NO better at any of them. The portions are smaller and smaller, and the quality failing. It never was "really" mexican, but, used to be sort of a pilgramage. The "newer" haciendas take poor service, poor quality, and BAD experiences even beyond the one on Portage Rd. Why wait an hour to get poor service, and a very very low quality product? Once, twice, three times, four times five times, 20 .. enough, I will never waste my time waiting at a "Hacienda" for the crap they serve and the surley way they serve it again. ADIOS Hacienda!

This is a very nice place to enjoy good Mexican food and they have great drink specials. The atmosphere is casual and the company good. The staff is friendly and cautious. Great place to unwind after work.

Don't wast your time or money. A terrible experience all around, food, staff, etc. were all poor quality.

It's always fun to go to Hacienda. Looking forward to Cinco de Mayo!

We love Hacienda! The food is fast, and tasty! The atmosphere in unique and fun(especially the 100 center location!) The service is impeccable. I would recommend Hacienda to anyone.

This restaurant has never let me down. The food is great and the drinks are even better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
