I love this place!! I went to college at Tri-State there in Angola, and was introduced to the Kitch (as we call it)on my recruit trip. I like to tell people that the Kitch was what closed the deal. Having scratch-cooked comfort food when you are thousands of miles from home was awesome, being able to afford it on a starving student s finances was truly a blessing. I have been trying to find a breakfast place (not that their other meals aren t great too) ever since, and nothing compares. I make a point to stop in whenever I m within an hour s drive... unfortunately, that s not very often.
Yep, it's smoky. Yep, it's outdated. Yep, it's the cheapest homecooked meal you can buy.
I've been going to the VK since I was a little girl and I still love it's hometown charm. I think the same waitresses have worked there since I was a little girl, too. You don't get any more small town than the Village Kitchen, but I still love it!
