Albano's Villa, Michigan City

New owners have RUINED this pizza. Nothing like what it was when the real Albano s owned it. Increased prices for bad pizza.

As a former resident gone for over 25 years I find great pleasure in going back to Albano's. The family ordered Albano's pizza this past Christmas. It had been a few years since I'd had Albano's - it was incredible! Hats off to a local establishment that can make a pizza that tastes exactly the same as it did back in the 60's when my dad would pick one up on the way home to watch Ed Sullivan. AS much as I like the dining room I find the pizza too hot and gooey right out of the oven. Give it drive time to settle down - perfect. Absolutely recommended to anyone who wants the best pizza in Michigan City!

You have to try the Italian Beef sandwich with peppers and cheese. I live in another state and have not found one better than this sandwich.

As someone born and raised in MC, Albano's and Roma Pizza are the best pizza in town, and you're visiting or haven't tried it yet, you should. The regular cheese pizza (thin) is great, but the deep dish at both places are awesome. You have to stop in.

First off I have loved Albanos for over 30 years, same great food but service was horrible. I have worked in restaurants for over 25 years from front of house to back, even running my own kitchen. I was told 20 minutes for my order, it took 50. There were at least 10 people on staff this night on July 13, 2010. The girl at the counter was unfriendly, she gave me my receipt to sign, I said the pen does not work, her answer was that's why you sign it on the to go menus, I said how was I to know. I was then told my order was not ready, and I was 5 minutes late even. I sat for 15 more minutes. The food was the same but it is such a shame that the service was nothing like it used to be.

sentimental favorite so they get automatic bonus points. pizza is tasty and reheats well (as opposed to reheating papa johns or dominos, definitely not an inspiration for leftovers). ordered a combination type pizza, wife wondered why i didn't order anything with vegetables -- veg items on pizza were very skimpy, couldn't even see them without searching for them. taco seasoning comes in a plastic package, like mustard in a chinese restaurant. this lessens the dining experience -- it would be much more alluring if that type of food prep was done in the kitchen instead of creating a 'fast food' feeling and thereby cheapening the dining experience. crust was very good, not too heavy and had a crispiness to it, just right. i like a bit more seasoning in the sauce but it's good. i'm partial to a little heavy on the garlic and herbs. cheeses are good and sausage has a nice spiciness to it. like i said, albanos is a sentimental favorite, and it's a good pizza on its own, so i'm sure i'll be back. but if it weren't for being a sentimental favorite, i'd likely be exploring mich city for the best pizza it can offer.

I'm very glad that Albano's no longer has a smoking section. I love their food! The pizza and tacos are fantastic. The cheese garlic bread is perfection! I always buy gift certificates around Christmas time for my brother-in-law. And don't forget those lovely heart-shaped pizzas for Valentine's Day! Great job, Albano's!

Pizza is very flavorful with fresh ingredients. The antipasto salad is delicious!

As much as I love this place, I have not been to dine in in almost YEARS because they allowed smoking in half the restaurant, but it was completely open! So the smoke just floated all through! I don't know where people get this myth that invisible walls will keep others from breathing in cancerous smoke. GREAT pizza for really good prices, and great burgers. They have a lot of good menu choices.
