How rude can the waiter be and the food was not prepared properly. We told the waiter at 6pm that we had another engagement at 8pm, it should not have taken TWO HOURS TO GET SERVED and when we asked WHY IT WAS TAKING SO LONG HE ADMITTED THAT HE WAS PUTTING OTHER TABLES IN FRONT OF US. So they rushed our food out only to have raw chicken served to us and slimy steak. A complete waste of time and we could not make the concert thanks to this poorly run restaurant. I don t even want to give this place one star.
Staff is great. Food is great. If you are going to complain about the price 1. don't go there 2. go when they have special price events to give it a try 3.hit up your neighborhood Applebees for a 2 for 20. Writing bad reviews because of price is inept. Also, if you know absolutely nothing about steak, don't bother going to a high end steakhouse.
Our experience at St. Elmo's was average at best. 3 of 4 ordered the same steak cooked to Medium. All 3 were cooked differently. 1 person sent her steak back for a bit more cooking and it took nearly 5 minutes to get it back. The other person ordered the tuna and it was cooked too much making it very dry. Based on the reputation and price I expected something more. I think Mortons is a step above St. Elmos.
We'd heard a lot of things about St. Elmos so my wife & I were looking forward to the visit. I figured that a place with such a good reputation would have at least semi-private seating. I don't sit as close to my own kids at the dinner table as I did the strangers in the table beside us. We had to endure the lady next to us (might as well been at our table) cough up her T-Bone - before requesting another table. I don't think a table set up on the median of an interstate would be any louder. The shrimp cocktail was great - and the steak was very good as well. If I was with a group of guys - it would be ok - but I'd never go again for a romantic/quiet dinner.
