Augustino's Italian Restaurant
Started in 2003, Augustino's Italian Restaurant strives to bring authentic Italian cuisine and culture to the Midwest. Our menus offer a wide variety of Italian-American classics like Spaghetti & Meatballs and Lasagna, as well as more traditional Italian dishes like our signature Sicetti and Caprese Salad. From the old Italian families decorating our walls to the garlic herb butter served with our freshmade Italian bread, this is 100% Italian culture at its best. Don't miss out on our wine list either- It's unrivaled for Italian varietals you can't find anywhere else!
The only thing edible I've had in that restaurant is the ravioli, and I have my suspicions about wether it's homemade or not. The Italian wedding soup is obviously straight from Campbell's and like most canned soups, way too salty. None of the pasta is freshly made, all from the box, bag, what have you. Chicken parmesan is obviously re-heated and overcooked, bland and dry. Spaghetti is overcooked and soupy. The chicken tastes like they bought one of those roasted chickens at Meijer (you know, the ones that taste like they were boiled in mop water) and pulled the meat. The flatware is cheap stamped sheet metal like you find in school cafeterias or prison. They also brag about how their meatballs have won awards, maybe for a dog food tasting competition, they're mealy, oversalted and virtually flavorless. Way overpriced, dirty kitchen and dining area, their only saving grace is the reasonably attentive wait staff. Oh, and on the ravioli, don't ask for any sauce, it's bargain basement garbage they sell in the discount aisle at the grocery.
Had the lasagna last night and at first bite knew it wasnt right and my wife said the meatballs were still frozen. After complaining to a somewhat hiped up host he returned with another las. that I couldnt eat.I asked if the meatballs were homemade and the server said they were bought frozen. The host seemed to be drunk coming to the table over and over.we finally got our bill and I have never been more pissed.Next time we will go to Fazolis where the food is better.
Okay lets start this out on a good note before we get to the bad stuff. Food was great! I called to find out directions to the restaurant and the man was a total dick! Extremely rude, its people like him that ruin restaurants! Service was not the best and finally i will not recommend this to anyone. Get your act together and eat at brozinni's if you like authentic food and great service! CHEF JOSEPH

wonderful food, affordable prices, friendly and efficient wait staff. Only negative I could say is that it's in a strip mall...after you get past a somewhat generic feel (generally the time when the appetizer arrives)
