Had dinner there last night because of it s convenient location to the Murat across the street. This was my second time eating there and it was FANTASTIC! Our waiter was amazing and helped those I was with who hadn t been there before. The food was really good and the portions were huge. It is slightly pricey, but for everything we got, it was money well spent. The building is stunning and the atmosphere was great. I will be back!
Other than the architecture, I wasn t really impressed with the Rathskeller. It was VERY expensive, the service was slow, and I could have made a better wurst platte at home. The brats I get from Claus in Fountain Square are better than the one I had at the Rathskeller. And their German Potato salad was awful. Given all of the great things I d heard about the Rathskeller, I was extremely disappointed. Seriously doubt I d go back and pay those prices for mediocre food & service.
The ambiance was great but the food was horrible and overpriced. I ordered shrimp that costs over twenty a plate. It was over salted and hard as rubber. The carrots were like mush. The potato pancake was like rubber. I think they made this stuff the day before.
Have grabbed a quick bite after work and had a nice long sit down dinner here. Food has been very good. Great place to get something different and have a good beer. Prices prevent this place from being a regular weekly destination.
I went here for the first time last summer w/ some co-workers and enjoyed myself! The drinks were on point and our waiter was extremely nice! I ordered the chicken cordon bleu and he paid for it for me! I had to give him a hug before we left! I wouldn't mind going back there again, w/ some friends, just for the drinks alone!
Whether you want some authentic German dining or just a place to gather with some friends this place is great. With their biergarten and live entertainment this can be such a quality experience. Little on the expensive side but it draws a better crowd than most.
We had heard how wonderful this place was supposed to be. We had reservations but the staff treated us poorly from the start. We were seated in the middle of the floor even though we asked to have a table by the wall. They refused to reseat us even after we asked. The service was poor and the food left alot to be desired. We will not go back to this place.
