Other than the architecture, I wasn t really impressed with the Rathskeller. It was VERY expensive, the service was slow, and I could have made a better wurst platte at home. The brats I get from Claus in Fountain Square are better than the one I had at the Rathskeller. And their German Potato salad was awful. Given all of the great things I d heard about the Rathskeller, I was extremely disappointed. Seriously doubt I d go back and pay those prices for mediocre food & service.

The ambiance was great but the food was horrible and overpriced. I ordered shrimp that costs over twenty a plate. It was over salted and hard as rubber. The carrots were like mush. The potato pancake was like rubber. I think they made this stuff the day before.

I have been here several times for drinks after work - the beer is a bit pricy but the selection and beer garden are wonderful. A friend of mine got married there and had some trouble with getting charged for things that were not served, so if you use their banquet facilities, make sure you only pay for what you get.

Have grabbed a quick bite after work and had a nice long sit down dinner here. Food has been very good. Great place to get something different and have a good beer. Prices prevent this place from being a regular weekly destination.

I went here for the first time last summer w/ some co-workers and enjoyed myself! The drinks were on point and our waiter was extremely nice! I ordered the chicken cordon bleu and he paid for it for me! I had to give him a hug before we left! I wouldn't mind going back there again, w/ some friends, just for the drinks alone!

Great place to grab a drink. The wine is good, and the beer is great! The atmosphere is welcoming in and the food is wonderful as well. Great hang out.

The food is a traditional German fare with a great beer selection. I am not a beer drinking type, but I tried a few different kinds there. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about beers; our waiter was some history buff, so she even told us the history of the establishment. It is a great place for after work beer, but I would not take my date there (does not appear too romantic), unless I knew she was a beer drinking type.

Last Christmas, I finally had the opportunity to try the Rathskeller I'd heard so much about. I was not impressed, the service was only fair the the dinner salad a joke. Best rating I can give is "Average."
