nice family place...

I was a bit worried that we'd have to wait, the parking lot was packed. But lo and behold! The hostess found a table for 5 immediately. Good setup as far as fitting as many tables as possible while still being comfortable. The bar offerings, while pretty to look at, were lackluster in taste. I must admit that I am getting so tired of every drink I order at a restaurant tasting like syrup instead of alcohol. Even a topshelf 'rita reeked of sticky sweet & sour mix and corn syrupy lime juice mix. My first order was a mango mai-tai, that had a visible layer of mango syrup on the bottom. It was sickeningly sweet, and tasted nothing like a mai tai. If I recall correctly the last time I was here I had a cosmopolitan and even that was sweet! I think they used poor quality triple sec and then cranberry juice cocktail rather than cranberry juice. One way or the other, I'm just going to have to order water from now on here.
That aside, the food and service were wonderful. Our waitress was prompt, courteous, and cared that we were happy. The salad was fresh... greens were very cold, sandwiches were very hot. It was clear that our appetizers and meal were delivered asap after being trayed-up. The food and service made up for the beverage nastiness.
