Oceanaire Seafood Room - Indianapolis
As sleek as a 1930s ocean liner, yet as relaxed as a dinner on the shore, the Oceanaire provides the perfect setting to enjoy Ultra-Fresh seafood, flown in daily from around the world. Sip a Sidecar in the lounge, sidle up to the oyster bar, or kick back in a horseshoe booth before diving into a sea of Ultra-Fresh fish, including steak-cut Alaskan halibut, seasonal favorites like fresh Copper River salmon or hard-to-find delicacies like true Dover sole or bluefin tuna. Our daily-printed menu will guide you, a wine list as deep as the sea will seduce you, and the world's freshest seafood awaits you at the Oceanaire.
We drive 2 1/2 hours to go to Indy about 4 times a year. We always eat at the Oceanaire. We never come to town without a reservation for dinner one night here. The service, the food all 5 stars every time. We have tried all the big name places downtown and this one and the Skyline Club are both don't miss.
I'm going to start off by saying something nice about this restaurant, the decor was very nice. There are two words that best describes their food, BLAND and EXPIENSIVE! There were four people in my party so we ordered several different things and shared them. The crab cake at Oceanaire was mostly breading, and tasted so bad I couldn't eat it. We also had, lake trout and again too much breading on top bland and not a very good flavor. We also had a seafood tray with oysters, mussels, shrimp, lobster, and crab legs. Again really not very good; the shrimp had no flavor, and no melted butter for the lobster. I used a lot of salt and the Old Bay they had on the table to try to get some taste, what I really could have used was some Tony Chachere's and tobasco. My advise is save your money and go to New Orleans.
Valet parking was fast. Our reservations were on the books, our waiter was very prompt and at our needs. We were seated and served correct! The appetizers were satisfying, the main course was filling and the desert was heaven. From a lover of seafood, I will highly recommend. My night out on the town was complete!
I've been to all the upscale restaraunts in Indy, and this is by far the best of the best. Been there multiple times, and never had even a hint of a bad experience. I reccommend this place whole-heartedly.
I have been to this restauarant several times and each time it just gets better. The atmosphere is relaxing and the service wonderful. The food is the icing on the cake. Every dish I have tried( and those of my companions) has been outstanding. I will continue to go every chance I get.
This place was beutiful, service and the food were terrific. My husband and I ordered the large seafood tower and entree's. Though it was all delicious the tower was all we needed, In fact we are going in a few days and that is all we will order. The first time we went it was our anniversary and we were treated to a scrumtious baked alaska. I recommend this place to all seafood lovers. The freshest seafood I have ever had.
