Except for the white sausage gravy, which oddly enough has no discernable sausage, Bob Evans breakfast is pretty much what you'd expect. No better or worse than other breakfast chains. I find their lunch and dinner items are either bland, or so ridiculously oversauced it makes them inedible. For example, the stir fry dinner item sounds good from the description, broccoli, chicken and carrots over rice pilaf, with a sweet and sour sauce, but when I got it, it was swimming in this wierdly sweet brown sauce. So much so it was all you could taste. I'm not kidding, there was at least a half cup just ladled over the top of it. All the Bob Evans restaurants that I have eaten in have this tendency to oversauce things. I liked the first few bites of the Wildfire chicken salad, but then the wildfire sauce they pored over the chicken just became too overpowering. They're just too heavy handed with the sauces. They may be doing that to compensate for the general blandness of their food. They claim their food is farm fresh and homemade, but it's really nothing more than glorified fast food.
like i said on the other bob evans review... it is just a bob evans. nothing that great, the food is what you expect from a chain type restaurant. usually the service is ok, but no way would I give a bob evans 5 stars.
My family and I have dined at this restaurant many times since the late 1980's and have found it to have good food, a friendly atmosphere and generally good service.
I no longer live nearby but plan to eat there whenever I'm in the area.
My family and I have been going to this restaurant for as long as I can remember. We were there through the bad and good times. Lately there has been a huge improvement. The service is amazing, the waitress we had, Sarah, paid attention to every detail. Not only that the food was good. We did have a problem and the manager personally came out to fix the problem. She was kind and appreciative of our business. We will be back.
