I have lived in the Dayton area for over 10 years. I have heard about the Paragon Club since being here. My boyfriend and myself drove from Waynesville through Centerville discussing different options we had for dinner. We both agreed to have something different, because we frequent Bravos and PF Changs regurlarly. We talked about even going to Kroger Marketplace and buying King Crab Legs and going back home. NO.....I had to suggest Paragon s. We drove into the parking lot and I noticed that there were very few cars....I take this as a bad sign being that it was a Friday evening after 5pm. A sign welcomed us on the door regarding appropriate attire required. It went on further to say that management would decide what was appropriate??? OK. We entered the place and it was very dark, gloomy, outdated and hardly any patrons there. The place was depressing. Waitresses of all ages, mostly retirement age lined up as if in a lineup. We were seated in a booth and given the menu and a piece of paper showing Friday s Specials. The waitress, who seemed she was angry at the world or severly constipated or maybe her arthritis was bothering her (it was rainy) took our drink orders. As I was looking over the menu I couldn t help but notice the prices were unbelievable. I wasn t even comfortable ordering anything because of the prices, I commented No wonder I haven t been here My boyfriend ordered Prime Rib, hash browns, cauliflower with cheese and a cup of potatoe soup. He described the soup as blah The only thing prime about the prime rib was the price. He didn t touch the cauliflower or hashbrowns. I ordered the calves liver and onions, because it was one of the more affordable entrees. I received the salad Which was no more than iceburg lettuce chopped with carrot shreds right out of a grocery store plastic bag. The house dressing creamy and boring and a very minimal amount. The liver was tasteless and the sauteed onions were piled on top. The liver was not cooked with the onions and everyone knows that is the way it should be cooked. The rice served was right out of instant box, and their signature stewed tomatoes were right out of a can and were terrible. I did eat one roll. The service was awful and she never smiled and seemd very irritable. She cleared the entire table crossing over infront of us numerous times. I could understand this if the place were packed and people were waiting for a table. But there was no one there!
We had our leftovers packed so we could feed them to the dogs and the bill was shocking. I couldn t wait to get out of the place. We went straight home and in about an hour we both had stomach issues which lasted until the following morning. I would not recommend this place even it was half the price. The atmosphere, waitresses and food were the worst I have ever had. Save yourself, money, the sad environment and a stomach ache by going some where else. I would have had a much better time going to Chipotle, or even having chicken mcnuggets (and they are not my favorite) at home.
Do Not Waste Your Money! I really wouldn t give it one star!
