The pizza is good enough. The dough is a bit sour-tasting, the sauce is the consistency of refried beans--I've watched them as they plop a chunk on and mash it down rather than pour or spread it on. I think the extremely high garlic content is the best thing about it--but I am a fan of garlicky stuff. It does stay with you for days and, if you are prone to heartburn, pre-dosing with antacids would be the way to go. Also, If you don't care for garlic, it's best to avoid the neighborhood altogether--you can smell it down the block.
Even if you order ahead, you can often still end up waiting up to a half hour of 45 minutes after you get there--with an average of 20 other people in a room slightly larger than a postage stamp. And you will pay dearly for the privilege of eating this legendary food--it's twice the price of other pizza in the area. To be fair, though, it's really filling and you'd probably get by on two pieces even if you normally eat three or four.
I guess the bottom line is, while I do enjoy eating the pizza, I resent the fact that, since they know that they have a cult following, they seem to believe themselves to be above concern about their prices, speed, or friendly service.
