I have worked and ate at Matsos for many years, and I can asure everyone that gloves are used for all salad making. Spiror will bend over backwards to help his employees. He runs a great restaurant. The food is unique and absolutly delicious!! It is the perfect, cozy family restaurant!
Spiro runs a wonderful family restaurant and supports the arts while doing so. I am probably a little biased as I practically grew up wih his food since my college days. Honestly, his food is the real Greek deal! The egg lemon soup (avgalemeno), spinach pie,(spanakopita), gyros, and all other Greek specialties are great, and do not pale in comparison at all to his wonderful pizza!! Spiro and his wife, Pam, charm and welcome you and make you feel at home whenever you sup and enjoy the company of this Wooster culinary phenom. Don't miss a chance to eat authentic Greek fare in the middle of Ohio, and meet the wonderful proprietor, Spiro, if you get the chance to visit Wooster. Hopefully, you will have the opportunity to visit the Ohio Light Opera, as well, during the summer, which this proprietor so ardently supports. He has pictures lining the walls of the restaurant, representing many of the artists who play on the Freedlander stage as young professionals throughout the years.
All the Very Best to Spiro and Matsos Family Restaurant!!!
The best little greek restaurant around!! Greek Salad is awesome!! They will take care of you!!
I suggest The Symposium dinner, loaded with Eggplant Parm , Homeade meatballs sausage & mushroooms all baked under a pile of cheese!! & they keep the garlic bread coming!
I like the food at Matos; I don’t think I have had anything off the menu that I didn’t like. I can’t think of any restaurants in the area that has any “Good Greek” food. Sometimes you really want a good authentic Gyro. It's nice to spend a day shopping and looking around in the downtown area, and then have a good reasonability priced dinner.
Matsos is a terrible place to work for. He does Belittle the women that work there calls them Stupid or tells them they know nothing. not allowed to talk to the men that work there without the chance of getting fired. he is kinda possesive of the women thats why we arent allowed to talk to the men. he told me himself that if he catches anyone he will fire them...
I have eaten a Matso's many times and the food has always been very good. The Gyro Salad platter seems to be my favorite thing on the menu. I personally know from servicing the restaurant in the early morning hours before opening the kitchen is kept very clean. Spiro, the owner is somewhat strict with his employees at times, but that is the reflection of the quality food he has served for many years.
Never eaten here but have to wonder why, on almost a daily basis, is a place this small advertising for employees.
What are they doing to their people? Are the employees to Matsos what pets are to Chinese restaurants?
We need to know.
