Luigi's Restaurant, Akron

I'm extremely disappointed. Unless you know the owner, etc, it's not a good value. The Tossed salad with cheese was no bigger than the $1 Wendy's side salad and the meatballs were not only luke warm, but there was no cheese on them or in the bag. They didn't even give you Parmesan to sprinkle over it. To boot, this was almost $9 and they don't take credit cards. So they take debit which is free for the merchant yet they turn around and charge you a $2.00 fee????? To sum it up, this mediocre meal at best cost $11 - Not a good value !!

Food is average at best. Pizza is definitely mediocre (my assessment as a NJ native - NY/NJ has the real deal and nothing in this area comes remotely close). Positive note is that it's cheap, but that's about the only saving grace.

My most fave place ever!!! I grew up coming here.. sometimes would come a few times a week! I moved to California from Ohio so now I only get it maybe once a year. I have cravings for it often. :( Dear Luigis, PLEASE over night me your baked lasagna, salad with cheese and your warm bread!!!

Average at best. Staff is usually slow and irritated. Pizza is greasey and rediculously overpriced. Lets also not forget their cash only policy. ONLY thing I really like about Luigis is their salads with cheese, and even those are overpriced. Again, average at BEST.....

Luigis is amazing! SOOOO GOOD! I love there pizza and they have awesome bread.

Haven't been living in the area long, but I have already experienced Luigi's. Great pizza! I love the spaghetti with butter sauce and garlic. Open really late which is always nice, since t's hard to get a decent meal in Akron late at night.

Currently live in St. Petersburg, Florida and will be there this summer. I was a purchasing Manager for 35 years and travelled all over the world (on the ticket). I was wine and dined by the best country clubs and restaurants in world. I judge a good place by "would I pay for a meal here out of my pocket. This is a real family place and always remember 1st time, 2 police cars and a fireman eating there. Love this food and place GREAT meatball splash! and salad.

I visited this place for the first time back in April of this year and I have to say it is the BEST pizza I have ever ate! I'm from Missouri and I can't wait to go back to Akron for some pizza from luigis!!!

Best pizza in the area, hands down. Classic Akron landmark, that evokes nostalgia, complete with pictures of old patrons on the wall and an antique music box. The pizza is simple, with a hand-tossed style crust that is very yeasty. The cheese is always out to the edge of the pie, creating a salty, crispy crust. Toppings are classic pizzaria, nothing exotic. Massive salads, with loads of meat and cheese. Simple freshly baked Italian bread a must!
