My husband and I just ate at El Rincon tonight for dinner. I was not impressed at all.
I had eaten there about 10 years ago and didn't like it too much. For the past 7 years, we had been living in Dallas Texas and moved back to Akron, so my husband and I wanted to find a decent Mexican restaurant like those in TX. The reason we wanted to give El Rincon another try was because a few months ago we read that the Akron Beacon Journal had rated it the #1 Mexican restaurant in Akron. In my opinion, I don't know why - what a waste of money.
Sure, the food came out fast, I'll give them that, but my taquitos were burnt and I had to ask for a refill 3 times - the server basically ignored my husband and I. Also, I couldn't figure out why in the world all the servers were male - there was not one female server in the whole place.
This place really isn't what it is all hyped up to be. My husband and I ate at El Puente a few months ago and they were much better than here. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone if you want good Mexican food or good service because you won't find either here.
