Waterloo Restaurant & Catering, Akron

This was my first of hopefully MANY visits to Waterloo! Not only is the food fantastic, (I have never seen a cream puff so huge in my life!!), there were more than ample offerings to choose from, and the waitstaff rivaled upscale places I've eaten at in NYC and Philly! I felt like I'd been coming here to eat for years - like a part of the family! I loved the personal touches - like the owner asking if we'd had a good meal and thanking us for coming, and the atmosphere in the dining room - all the staff had sincere smiles and seemed happy to be there, even during a fairly large dinner rush! I will be back, often!!

A perfect example of how to run a restaurant. Food is hot and delicious. Service is upbeat and present. The young owner came by and said thank you! I eat there all the time and am never bored with choices or surprised. I want one of these by where I live in Green!! Great Job Waterloo!

One our favorites is their Chicken Imperial soup that is available only on Sundays and Mondays. Go early, because they have been known to sell out. Definitely one of our favorites! Their specialty salads are huge and hard to finish in one sitting.

I have great memories of the Waterloo! Probably starting in 1964 when my Dad took me there, and we'd get buckets of chicken to take home. Then my dates took me there, then I'd meet friends for a night out and stopped later at the Waterloo, as they were open late. Today, I meet my girlfriends there, mostly for breakfast, or by myself for lunch or dinner. I have never had a bad meal there, or a crabby waitperson. Nothing but great food, a huge varied menu, specials all day, and awesome desserts! I have used the catering Dept. For a corporate party, the Waterloo catered for us with steaks and a salad bar for 40 people. Everything was as hot as if they made it onsite. I have used dessert trays for a wedding, and everybody raved about the meal! I would reccomend the Waterloo to anyone, and I hope the Restaurant outlives me! haha! I especially like that the owners are on site all the time, so that if there is a problem, I know that they will fix it, but I've never had to! I also reccomend Greek Trays to my Greek friends for parties as they are great, and you bake the best pies in Akron! Keep up the good work! Sincerely, Maria Mollis

The food here is good. The deserts will kill you. :) Good place for meetings, parties, etc.
