Our family recently went to Hibachi for dinner. There were 6 of us. We had a reservation and requested a certain chef. Another group that didn't have a reservation came it at the same time as our reservation wanting the same chef. My husband heard a conversation between the manager and the other customer stating they would have to wait because we had a reservation and they didn't. One of the people in their group was going on and on about how they've been coming there for 5 years blah, blah, blah. We get seated and we are wondering why it is taking so long for our drinks, soup, and salad to be served. We can hear the chef we requested cooking for another table at this point. Then we couldn't hear him and thought he would be coming out to cook our food. No he went over to the other people that came in when we did that didn't have a reservation. The waitress tried to make us look like jerks with the other group at our table and the manager tried to lie about what had happened. We at this point were still waiting for our salads. The table next to us was seated about 20 minutes after us and were already getting their food cooked. It appears the waitress was told to serve us at a slow pace in order for the other group to get the chef first even though we were the ones with the reservation. Since we started going here things with this restaurant have slowly been going down hill. Poor service, over priced, a rude comment etc. I only agreed to go because my husband loves the food and it was to celebrate his birthday. Needless to say that was the last time we will step foot in that restaurant. We couldn't believe this happened since when we walked in the manager seemed better than the other one that was there. Shows how you can be fooled. I would give it no stars, but since I can't I gave it one.
We have eaten at this hibachi many times and have always gotten excellent service. The staff is courteous and the waitresses are always attentive. The cooks employ the typical hibachi humor, the white guy is really funny. But beyond that, we tried the hibachi in the mentor mall and were VERY displeased. Comparitively, you get a lot more bang for your buck at the one in painesville and the food is soooooooo much better. So if you're looking for good hibachi in northeast ohio, this is it.
Went there for wife's bday and it was a struggle to have them honor the free meal. Waitress was extremely rude and took forever to bring out food and take the bill. The food was medicore at best. I will never go back.
They offer a special for a free dinner if its your birthday. So we tried the restaurant. Well, the bill came and they would not honor the free dinner without a birth certificate. We will not return now....Dishonorable place.....
I love this place. Sometimes we have a little wait, and it isn't the cheapest place in town, but we know that it will be worth the trip. If you like to enjoy your food and company this is the place to go. They make having dinner a very tasty and enjoyable experience. We have taken out of town guests here, aon their return requested another visit.
I have a shellfish allergy and told them upon my first visit. They remembered on my next visit and from that day forward, they always prepare my food before any shrimp. It's very refreshing that they don't easily forget you and strive to please. Hibachi is always my first choice when dining out now.
The first time we went we were totally impressed. The food is out of this world. The chefs are excellent. I have never tasted such excellent food. We go here all the time and have taken several people each time. Everyone raves about it.
I have to say that the first time I went to Hibachi, I was shocked at the prices, and thought of sneaking out before I even ordered anything. But I stuck around, and BOY was I in for a treat! Not only do you have a good time watching and listening to the cook, but the food is OUTSTANDING! The seafood is great, as well as the filet mignon. My sister had the lemon chicken, and fell in love (which is something to be said, because she's VERY picky). I tell everyone to come here - holidays, birthdays, and everyday.
