Thumbs down Ahmed s. We are frequents at this place and drive about 50 miles to eat there. We have eaten here every Father s Day for many years. Today we called and were originally told closing time would be 9pm. We headed out from suburban Detroit around 6:30. Called around 6:45 just to confirm. Was told they decided they were going to close at 8pm. Our estimated arrival time would be 7:30 so we proceeded to make that drive. When we arrived at 7:25 the restaurant was full of people but we were told all the orders had been taken and they were closing the kitchen. I can t complain about the food or service. It has been good for as long as I have been a customer. About 10 years now. But at 100 mile round trip and $4 We commit to $25 just in gasoline costs before we even walk in the place. I can say that this event is enough for me to eat my second favorite steak elsewhere on Father s Day and every other day. So long Ahmed s.
Seen some other people trash this place and I strongly disagree, have been eating there for many years and just recently enjoyed another fine meal and the only problem was I was stuffed when we left! The daughter of the owner is usually out front now and she always greets us with a genuine smile and helps to get us exactly what we want.Have been in on a busy weekend night and still get excellent service. Actually it's not been crowded unless you go around 9pm on Fri. or Sat. night and even then we got seated right away with great service as always. So if you don't want a great steak(and some great seafood too!) don't go to one of our favorite places, but if you do ask the server person what's good, and choose from one of their recommendations, you'll enjoy it.
This restaurant is nothing like it was years ago. The service is slow the steaks are over priced and the last time I went there the strip steak was very tough They have eliminated items from the salads such as croutons and feta cheese and now charge extra for them. The female matradee was very rude. I can get better food and service at a number of other restaurants in town.
I eat here every chance I get. Great steaks. The service is always excellent. It's a small place so sometimes the wait is long, but believe me it's worth the wait. I try to get there early to reduce the wait time. I recommend getting in around 5pm to get seated before the main crowd hits.
