The cashier was an unfriendly grumpy woman who instead of greeting my husband and I talked to us as we owed her something!!! That was just the beginning though! It was so crowded in there and we didn't have a place to sit. We let one of the staffs know that we couldn't find an empty table to sit at. She didn't care much and said we needed to wait for any available seat. We held our food trays for 15 minutes until someone left and we could finally have a seat! After waiting that long to eat our food, we expected the food to be much better. It was awful! We left the Jolly Roger feeling disappointed.
We definitely won't go back to that creepy restaurant.
Seen on some other sites people complaining that the fish is fried. What other way is there to eat lake erie perch?? its a staple of everyone who has ever fished lake erie. This spot is great. Great staff, very quick service. Have never had a bad meal! Would highly recommend.
You can't go wrong if you stop to have the perch and onion rings at Jolly Rogers Seafood House. Have been going there for at least 10 years and have NEVER had a bad meal. Whenever we are in the Port Clinton area with friends and/or family, it is definitely the place we take them to eat.
WE STOPPED AND ATE IT WAS OUR FIRST TIME . THE FOOD WAS GREAT WALLEYE AND PERCH PLATTER WAS GREAT MY WIFE HAN OYSTERS PLATTER, IT WAS EXCELLANT. WE HAD THE ONION RIGS THEY ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD. WE MAY GO BACK BEFORE WE LEAVE
We visited Marble Head for the first time. We went looking for a good place to eat. We saw Jolly Rogers in Port Clinton. So we decide to try this place and believe me, it was GREAT. We LOVED this place. They have Great Walleye, Perch, Waffle fries, Onion Rings and homemade tarter sauce. You can even watch them batter the fish. You get your moneys’ worth of food for the reasonable price. You won't leave hungry. If you are into the Walleye Capital you MUST make this a place to eat. You will LOVE this place as much as we do.
SIMPLY THE BEST PERCH! We live in Dayton, OH and were spending a few of days at Cedar Point, Put-In Bay, and camping at a local state park back in late May. Someone at the ferry dock suggested the Jolly Roger so we took a drive over to check it out. Looked like a dive at first sight and we weren't sure whether to stop or keep going! We decided to try it out, as we've learned that usually the worst looking places have the best food. I ordered the perch/walleye platter. The walleye was good, but I'VE NEVER HAD BETTER PERCH! We've raved about it ever since. We plan to be back in the area in early October (for Cedar Point of course!) and will definitely make another trip to the Jolly Roger. This time I'm getting a double order of the perch! I just hope they're open in October! Thanks for a great meal Jolly Roger crew!
