Mon Ami Restrnt & Historic, Port Clinton

I made a reservation for 20 people months before my wedding. I called to check my reservation a week before my wedding and they told me that they couldn't hold the reservation. I asked them what that meant and they told me that my bridal party and I would have to wait in line like everyone else. So I scrambled to find another place since there was no way I was waiting for a table in my wedding dress. We found somewhere else and spent close to $1000. Their loss.

My friend and I went this July and loved our afternoon adventure. The lobster bisque is sooo very good..Dont pass on this little GEM..Crusty top which you break into that reveals the creamiest of soups with chunks of delicate lobster. We were so impressed with our waitress for her attentiveness to all our needs. I should have wrote this review in July but I broke my hand in a car acident and just now am getting b ack to typing// As for anyone who did not have an excellent experience at Mon Ami I am sorry. As for me and my friend it was an excellent day. Mon Ami is a jewel for all to experience. We plan on going very soon for more of that lobster bisque or other delights on the menu. The food, the winery, the esthetics are too much to pass up.

The food was really great but The Owner he made me feel very uncomfortable when he was trying to ask how the service was it seemed as though the owner he was trying to make a pass toward me.The service was excellent!!!!

My husband and I love this restaurant. The food and wine is fabulous. Was sorry to hear of a few who didn't receive good service, however each time we were there we had a great waitress who took good care of everything. Nice atmosphere too.

Everything on the menu is priced separately, including your salad. When added up it can be very expensive. I prefer to have my sides and salad included in the price.

we've been at mon ami several times, and almost every time we either get forgotten by our waitress and ignored, rude staff, un-organized as hell, hostess would not seet us or take our names untill all of our party was present( so while my husband parked vehicle) many , many people got signed in ahead of us Way over priced food for the quality, but they got your ass because there's no other seafood buffets around! I beg my husband to take me there, and every time it's a bad experience....i regret it. It use to be the greatest place around, but it's bad.

This restaurant is horrible. I went there this past labor day weekend and got food poisoning. The place was way too disorganized and understaffed. There were rude signs on the table warning against eating off someone else's plate at the buffet (or else be charged full buffet price), but the wait staff was so inattentive I highly doubt they would notice. I was discouraged from ordering certain items from our waiter who said that it would take over an hour to get it to the table, and what I did end up ordering obviously wasn't cooked correctly or had been in contact with some other harmful bacteria. Don't do it...just dont.

I recently took my parents to Mon Ami for their anniversary. It was my second visit, the first being over 2 years ago for their Saturday night buffet. On that visit, we took a tour of the winery, sampled a tasting, and ate from their fabulous buffet. Though pricey, the food was delicious! Their were several choices of meat including prime rib, rainbow trout (from the Lake), salmon, stuffed pork chops and shrimp. They had a nice salad bar, many, many side dishes, and a desert table to die for! Cherries Julibee Flambout (sp) was also served and made right before your eyes. For the recent visit, we went to the Sunday brunch. It was equally delicious. There were chefs there to make an omelet to your liking, waffles, crepes, prime rib, trout, breakfast meats, the salad bar, shrimp, potato dishes, and a desert table which included cream puffs and 3 inch thick cheesecake. On this particular weekend, they were celebrating Octoberfest, so there were entertainers (musical groups and dance troupes) as well as vendors for a variety of crafts. They also had a display for a local animal rescue team, which brought a very large bald eagle, several owls and many reptiles. A great time was had by all! I would highly recommend Mon Ami.
